Hey everyone, another “have you experienced this, when will it go away?” post!
I’ve been pretty lucky with side effects from Lexapro, the first few days I was nauseous (great for my weight loss goals) but besides that it’s been easy going, no negative side effects.
Until last week.
For the past week I have been having wild vivid dreams. Nothing inherently violent or gruesome, just uncomfortable (don’t like speaking in front of groups? Let’s make your dream self have to talk to groups of people the whole night) etc.
Is this possibly a permanent side effect or will it go away like the other ones did? It’s starting to effect my sleep (always waking up exhausted) and work performance, I’m not sure how much longer I can handle it.

2022.01.16 16:16 Same-East3161 Taking a year gap from full time work to study Physics before University?

I'm located in the US and currently work as a software engineer.
I want to take an elective in Denisty Functional Theory when I attend the Master's program I get accepted to. I won't apply for another 2 to 3 years. I'll be studying Bioinformatics and Applied Mathematics.
I have a math background with almost no courses in physics. To take this elective I need to be proficient in Modern Physics, Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, and Advanced Quantum Mechanics.
Since I'm currently in school online for a second B.S. degree in Computer Science, there is no way in any world where I can study Theoretical Comp Sci, Physics, Biology together while working full time as a Software Engineer.
I live with my parents, so rent is not an issue. I understand that I am very privileged. I'll have a couple years of current salary saved as an emergency / education fund in two to three more years experience.
Would it be career suicide to take a full year off from work to study physics then apply for and do a 2 year master's program in applied mathematics off my savings in preparation for a career change?
I'd have a 1 year job gap on my resume after 4 to 5 years work experience. Would including my self studies in my resume, provided I REALLY built the physics skills, have a beneficial effect?
There's too much I want to do during my Master's degree, so I cannot just audit the physics courses during my Master's on top of my expected workload.

I got stuck in that magical water room with the tower for like an hour. I had the cutscene riding the cloth whale but then it clipped into a wall and I couldn't find it again.
In the end I just reset and started that level again, was there a way I was supposed to bring the guy back? 😅

This is my opinion take it or leave it.

  1. Builds are all wind up and very little payoff.
Take warmind cells, spawn an add clear cell after killing 5 adds, in most encounters by the time you have a cell the usefulness of it is already diminished.
Builds sound exciting on paper, but usually require so much to get going that the exciting tada boom pow moments show up when they have little to no effect.
  1. It is painful to put a build together, because of vague descriptions, a cumbersome ui, and a high investment requirement.
Builds are completely inaccessible early on, and difficult to manage over time.
Armor elements separating mods requires a constant juggling act.
Going in an out of 5 seperate menus, where each requires its own investment, and element swapping. Then having to change multiple mods in different menus, then god forbid I change my subclass, a weapon, or exotic, now I have to add in investing and changing all of those ahead of time.
Then we have to contend with vague descriptions. Why do I have to spend as much time researching which things go together, how well they work together and often how exactly they function? This could be solved by descriptions that are detailed.
How many people dont know the difference between enemies and combatants? How many people don't know the point system governing warmind cells? How many times has the system governing special and heavy ammo spawns changed, has this ever been communicated in game?
  1. Builds do not offer enough interesting choice.
There is a pull between 3 pillars when crafting a build. Ammo, stats, and special effects. A build should function much like an exotic, enabling a specific mode of play. Having ammo for my guns is not a special way of playing it is being able to play, and making me choose between shooting, and special effects is not an interesting choice, its an obvious choice. Especially when special effects require shooting, require so much shooting that the special effect goes to waste. Not to mention the wealth of apecial effects that can only be activated in specific conditions, usually conditions that are in opposition to when they would be most beneficial.
Proposed improvement.
Part 1 The build screen
Transmog has its own screen, mods should also have their own screen.
Imagine all your mod slots, all your armor elements and stats, all on a single screen, with all your effects readable simultaneously, without mousing over every mod, and the ability to change each mod slot from this screen.
Imagine if mods were not tied to the piece of armor, but the slot.
You could still have elemental, stat, energy, and type limitations tied to armor. With sections greying out when they gear changes and requirements are no longer met, as they do now with reset artifact mods, or armor you haven't worn in a while.
Simply having one place to view the summary and make changes would go a long way to improving the experience of using the system we have. And using the armor piece to determine the available slots, rather than specifically what is slotted would make changing gear a much more fluid process. Because you would only have to have the same number of slots, and pay for elemental changes.
When you mouse over a gear slot you would see the other armors you have that you can swap. There would be dedicated buttons for mw, energy, amd feeding. You would click mw then gear that can have its mw increased would be highlighted, when you mouse over that slot you will see the cost as a tooltip, and click to up the mw. When you mouse over a mod slot, you would see all mods that can fill that slot, organized into groups arranged by element if applicable, then by type. Within a group mods would be arranged by weapon type or category. ie sniper finder and sniper targeting would be next to each other, surrounded by special similar special weapon mods, and all warmind cell mods would be grouped together.
I absolutely hate that mods are just a single horizontal list displayed in 2 rows. I also hate that you cant scroll it with the mouse wheel.
I picture gear pieces on the left with their slots aligned horizontally to the right of them, the stats displayed vertically to the left of the gear piece picture. The right side of the screen would have a gear summary including stat totals and special effect mod summaries.
Part 2 Taking it further
Gear sets
Having multiple sets would be great, but at a minimum having one configuration for pvp and one for pve would be amazing. Imagine setting up both your pve and pvp builds, then switching modes without having to change mods, the set would simply apply in that mode.
Special effect goals
Trinity ghoul and witherhoard are great examples of distinct playstyles that are fun useful and meaningful, because they frontload their benefits. Neither is the best all the time, but both are their brand of fun all the time, rather than only in extremely specific situations.
This is how special effect mods should work (warmind cells, elemental wells, charged with light)
They would be more fun, and more useful if they were weaker but easier to use. Philosophically frontloading the fun is more interesting.
Maybe wmc's drop on every enemy kill, but stacking effects makes them require more kills to drop.
This way the player can build towards one big does it all wmc, or many less effective but still fun wmc's.
This would require a rework of all mods, but it would be beneficial, as builds would be more interesting, immediate, understandable, and accessible.
Maybe all the unused mods could have a place.
Also this could serve a wider range of activities, you might use more immediate builds in easier content for fun, then switch to mods with more complicated requirements for specific endgame activities.
I'd love to be more specific, think a bit more about several aspects of this idea, but if this just gets igbored or down voted I would feel like I had wasted my time doing so, so this is all for now, but feedback, tweaks, additions and alternate ideas are all welcome.
