2022.01.18 23:27 wntrsux Anyone hoping for another red day tomorrow?
I do weekly DCA, but sitting on some extra cash and would love to see another red day on the trot. VTI has been stuck around $230 for many months now. The market is out of gas now, but it needs to crumble a bit before rebuilding.
Expecting this post to be deleted or getting down-voted to hell as this isn't the boglehead way, but oh well.

2022.01.18 23:27 AnthroAm Does anyone know of an indie dupe for Lady Gaga’s Fame?
Fame used to be one of my favorite fragrances. Specifically hoping for something with notes of incense, jasmine, belladonna. It was a very distinct smell and I’m hoping to find something with at least a similar vibe.

2022.01.18 23:27 ragtime_sam Anyone in the DC metro/nova area?
For the longest time I've been looking for chronic illness support groups in the area, and been disappointed by the results. There are 2-3 advertised, but neither have members or are active.
So I'm just kind of putting out feelers to see if anyone would be interested in forming a local group, perhaps with the eventual goal of meeting in person once the pandemic lessens. About me, I am a 29 y/o M engineer with dysautonomia working part-time at home.

2022.01.18 23:27 No-Sale-6652 Need help with finding working browsers for my Nokia phone!
Hi! I'm looking for the most recent versions of some browsers for my old Nokia phone that runs on Symbian OS 9.2 (s60v3). I tried Opera Mobile, but it wouldn't load websites other than google.com. If you know any other browsers that might work (maybe some open-source browser that is still actively supported?) or some compatibility layer that lets you install more recent versions of some browsers, please link me with the instructions/download page. I would really love to bring this old phone back to life.
Also for anyone curious enough the phone I have is a Nokia n95-4 8GB Black.

2022.01.18 23:26 bighorse83 Secondary disability
I had tinnitus ever since I left the service. ( navy 2006) But it never really bother me. I would hear clicking and hissing once in a while. But last few years it has gotten a lot worse. So much so I filed a claim with the VA. Surprisingly I was approved for 10% disability. Now I have a constant ringing in my ear. I think it causing me to be depressed. I just can't enjoy things like I use to with constant ringing in my ear. Could I file secondary claim for depression?

2022.01.18 23:26 supawanich22 A year with Sense -- not perfect, but worth it for me, how about others?
I purchased my Sense a little more than a year ago, and a year in it's far from perfect, but it has helped me make some useful money making + energy saving decisions. I'm at about 35 found devices, including around 10 hue lights. I gave up on Sense figuring out some devices (TV, one of the AC units, etc), but was pretty consistent on others (water heater, space heaters, refrigerator, a few pumps). I'm generally kind of curious person, so I think I would have bought the device just out of curiosity/interest in energy usage. However, here are a few areas where it's made a big financial difference.
1) I figured out how much energy/how often our water heater was running. I learned that we had a recirculating pump that I could put on a smart switch (to turn on during when we shower) which reduced the power usage on the water heater by half.
2) After the year, it was extremely useful to be able to download the year's worth of data, by hour, and recalculate what my power bill would have been based on the different plans my energy company offered. Given the plans are based on peak/off-peak times, I had all of my past year's data by hour. If my calculations are right, I will hopefully be saving about $750-1k/annually based on switching plans moving forward. I could have exported through my utility, but it is way more onerous/painful.
3) pretty sure if/when I do need to switch water heaters, I'll be moving towards a heat pump based on the data I have now.
Just thought I'd share - would be curious to hear if it's been helpful for others?

2022.01.18 23:26 dcunitedfan3 long term storage - minimum temperature?
I know that typical recommendations for long term food storage is to stay lower than 75F. I've seen recommendations for 40-60F as ideal. Is there any problem with storing in an even colder space? I'm thinking maybe of an unheated basement, garage, or crawlspace in a cold climate that might dip below 40 in the winter.
