Anybody have any information on when Lords of Vegas will be published again? Apparently they are in-between runs and it is making the game extremely difficult to find.
Any information would be much appreciated.

2022.01.21 02:33 itastelikelove Rules for Training and Buying Animals
My players love having animals around as pets and companions, so I made some simple rules for the cost to purchase and/or train animals in D&D 5e. I'm pleased with how the rules turned out, so I want to share them for everyone else who loves pets
Other than just letting my players buy cool pets, I think these rules can be a good guideline for making a setting with a greater variety of mounts/companions - the Drow don't keep horses, so characters will need to dish out for a Giant Spider mount, or a Giant Goat in the Dwarven capital, or a Walrus while visiting the Tritons. And with these rules, you can figure out reasonable prices for anything in seconds
The super short summary of my rules is:
XP values are a great starting point for the price of animals. Add that amount again for mount training, and again for combat training. Use some modifiers to make animals feel different and to make prices align with official PHB prices. Let players train their own animals by replacing gold with cumulative Animal Handling checks made during downtime
Here are the full rules:

2022.01.21 02:33 srichardbellrock A Book of Mormon Prophesy fulfilled!!! OH GLORIOUS DAY!
Listen up doubters.
Book of Mormon prophecy fulfilled right before your very eyes.
Moroni, son of Mormon, prophesied of the conditions of the world to be found in these latter-days, when the Book of Mormon was to come forth (Mormon 8: 26-41).
One of the things that he foresaw is that (32) "there shall be churches built up that shall say: Come unto me, and for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins[;]" he asks (35) " why have ye built up churches unto yourselves to get gain..." and (30) "[w]hy do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not?" Furthermore (37) he chastises those that "...love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted..." warning such that (41) "the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer."
Moroni clearly had a vision of todays LDS Church!
The Church dots the world with Temples. Why? In the Church's words “The primary purpose of the temple is to provide the ordinances necessary for our exaltation in the celestial kingdom."
You don't get into heaven (at least the Celestial Kingdom (Mormon heaven)) unless you attend the Temple. The Ceremony explicitly says that you don't get into Heaven without knowing the
secret sacred passwords and handshakes to give the angels:
"Your Endowment is, to receive all those ordinances in the House of the Lord, which are
necessary for you, to enable you to walk back to the presence of the Father, passing
the angels who stand as sentinels, being enabled to give them the key words, the signs
and the tokens, pertaining to the Holy Priesthood, and gain your eternal exaltation."
So, not to put too fine a point on it, the Temple ceremony explicitly says no entry into heaven without entry into the Temple.
How does one gain entry to the Temple? By answering a series of 10 questions asked by one's Bishop and/or Stake President, culminating with
#10 Are you a full-tithe payer?
Paying tithing (10% of one's income (gross income according to many sourses) donated to the Church) is a necessary condition for entering the Temple. So if the Temple is necessary for entering heaven, giving 10% of income is a necessary condition for entry into heaven.
At which point I pause to ask the reader to compare this to one aspect of Moroni's prophesy: "there shall be churches built up that shall say: Come unto me, and for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins."
However, an even closer fulfilment can be found for the "built up churches unto yourselves to get gain" and "...yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not..." and "love money...more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted..." parts of the prophecy.
Temples are built to facilitate necessary saving ordinances. And tithing is a necessary condition for Temple attendance; building temples guarantees income generated by tithing. Or as Moroni would state it--building Churches to get gain.
The Church has advised repeatedly, that we are to pay tithing no matter what. If we don't have rent money, food money, whatever, pay tithing first. LDS apologetic site fairlatterdaysaints, who's mission it is to defend the church against misrepresentation, accept the "tithing first" principle without any qualms.
Then President Nelson travelled to Africa, In Kenya, he told his listeners how to get out of poverty. Tithing. Tithing will break the cycle of poverty. Of you are poor, give your money to us. To the Church. To our 100 Billion Dollar Corporation.
The Church has a stock portfolio valued at over $100 000 000 000. Yes. Over 100 billion dollars. One fund in that portfolio grew by 6.2 billion dollars during the pandemic.
The Church apparently takes in about $7 Billion a year from tithing alone. I say "apparently" because the Church has not disclosed it's financial statements in the USA since 1959. So considering this lack of financial accountability, we are compelled to take the word of the Church at face value when they tell us of their charitable outreach.
In 2020, the Church reports that "[s]ince 1985, Latter-day Saint Charities and its affiliates have provided over US$2.5 billion worth of assistance in 199 countries and territories. This amount does not include the value of volunteer labor, worth many millions of dollars." And more recently, that figure "has gone up dramatically,” according to W. Christopher Waddell of the Presiding Bishopric of the Church, "[w]e’re talking close to $1 billion in that welfare/humanitarian area on an annual basis."
In 2016, LDS Apostle Dallin H. Oaks said that the Church spends about $40 million per year in humanitarian efforts. Taking Elder Oaks at face value, and accepting that the church pulls in $7 billion per year in tithing, that would equate to about 0.57% of tithing revenues being used. If we accept the 2020 estimate, $2.5 billion, divided by 35 years is about $71 million per year in humanitarian aid. Roughly 1% of tithing revenue. And if we take Bishop Wadddell's estimate of $1 Billion per year (if true, this represents a sea change for the church from the previous estimates), the amount humanitarian aid relative to tithing is now about 14.3%.
Of course, there is no way to verify these figures as we are limited to the estimates provided by the Church. The most optimistic figure is that the equivalent 14.3% of tithing is allocated to humanitarian aid. All while sitting on a $100+ Billion dollar investment fund.
Telling starving Africans to give their money to the 100 billion dollar Church corporation to get out of poverty.
Telling starving members to give their money to the 100 billion dollar Church corporation before you pay rent or feed your family.
And even the best estimates provided by the LDS Church regarding it's charity (14.3% of tithing).
It neatly fulfills Moroni's prophecy that "there shall be built up churches unto yourselves to get gain" and "...yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not..." and "love money...more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted..."
The Church of Jesus Christ? What did Jesus say on the matter?
“If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” (Matt. 19:21)
“Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.” (Luke 12:33)
