Platinum with the atomic number 78 and an atomic mass of 195 in the periodic table is an extremely rare element found in the crust of the earth. The word Platinum is derived from Platina (Spanish word meaning ‘little silver’), because of its grey-white silvery colour. Platinum is a soft, dense, ductile metal that is very resistant to corrosion. It is used to make jewelry, wire, electrical contacts and laboratory vessels. Platinum expands at nearly the same rate as soda-lime-silica glass, so it is used to make sealed electrodes in glass systems. The reason platinum prices trade differently to gold boils down to one simple fact: supply and demand. The less supply there is of a metal, the higher the price. Unlike gold and silver, sentiment has little impact on platinum prices. Platinum is considered an industrial metals and has a very structured supply and demand model. Platinum Vs. Gold. Platinum is a naturally occurring chemical element that is actually about 30 times rarer than gold, according to Jenny Luker, president of Platinum Guild International USA (PGI), a marketing organization for the platinum jewelry industry. "If all the platinum ever mined were melted and poured into an Olympic-sized pool, the platinum would barely reach your ankles. Platinum is a chemical element with the symbol Pt and atomic number 78. It is a dense, malleable, ductile, highly unreactive, precious, silverish-white transition metal. Its name originates from Spanish platina, a diminutive of plata "silver.". Platinum is a member of the platinum group of elements and group 10 of the periodic table of elements. It has six naturally occurring isotopes. Platinum investing offers a unique option within the precious metals marketplace. Expanded use in multiple industries and limited availability created shifts in platinum’s supply and demand dynamics. These shifts resulted in changes in price and attracted investors seeking financial opportunity within the market’s volatility. Platinum, chemical symbol Pt, is a greyish-white metal that is traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the Tokyo Commodity Exchange and the London Bullion Market. The price of Platinum can fluctuate based on market conditions, supply and demand, geopolitical events and more. When someone refers to the price of Platinum per ounce, they are referring to the spot price. The spot price of Platinum is always higher than the bid price (what dealers pay for Platinum per ounce) and always lower than the ask price (what you will pay a dealer for Platinum per ounce).

2022.01.25 13:13 IllIlIlIIIllIIIIIll [advice] How I saved 150/yr per snake!
Hey, just wanted to make a quick post.
I heat my boa constrictor enclosures with 100W bulbs, they're on for about 16hday depending on the season.
With energy prices surging in my country (0.23 -> 0.6eukwh) due to the european gas shortage, I started running some numbers. I was spending 400/yr on each of my enclosures at current rates.
So, I did an experiment. Bought a 15w heating cable, and I made an aluminium case for them. Just sheet aluminium precut with a box cutter, and then bent by hand. This casing allows me to easily mount different heating options in the casing, and prevents direct contact between the animal and heat cable.
I wrote a custom temperature monitoring program for a raspberry pi, but a regular thermostat would do. Hotspot temps is 35 degrees celcius, but the temperature gradient is far more sharp. I solved this by adding a plastic housing on top of it, so the air in there gets a little warmer. This is still something I'm looking to improve.
Total investment about 95 euros. I now save 85% energy. I plan to add some thermal insulation (emergency heat blanket foil on the roofs). I already made some thick styrofoam with cement as a natural backdrop, which acts as insulation by itself.
Only done 1 enclosure so far as a protoype, snake seems fine so far :)
Anyways, just wanted to share this tip. I'll monitor this "prototype" for a few weeks, improve it and ultimately make a couple more. I might share the process on video so others can save a buck as well. Hope I inspired you! Further tips are welcome.

2022.01.25 13:13 bowlzybecks Is my orchid going to die? I think it had root rot when I got it, it came in soaked moss. I repotted it in orchid bark a week ago. ~75% of the roots were yellow so I cut some off. This is what the roots look like now. I’m not sure what species it is and it’s kept in a room with temp between 21-23C.

If I find a road frame that I like the aesthetics of, how much freedom do I have to swap parts out for modern parts? I understand I cant put disk brakes on a rim brake frame and vise versa. Are there other limitations for aftermarket parts?

2022.01.25 13:13 9ORsenal Kroenke Owned Teams (I am not a Kroenke)
I know this has been stated before but I think with a dwindling window, plenty of F5ing and Arteta in Denver its time to look at the big picture. Kroenke teams are doing exceptionally well and hes invested in building winning teams. The Rams are 1 game away from the Super Bowl and have taken risks (trades to get talent over draft picks) to be in a win NOW mode. The Avalanche are currently the top team in the NHL pointwise and I dont know anything about hockey but thats a good thing IMO. The Nuggets while in 6th place in the west have had injuries to key players that would otherwise be fighting for a top seed. Great team with great young talent and have been for the past handful of years. Arsenal is no different and the fact that Arteta was in CO means that they are pushing for those results. We have seen the growth from the backline/GK in terms of transfers and I am sure in the next week we will see some hopeful moves to ensure our happiness on a weekly basis. I think its hopeful in all of this to know that the other owned teams are seeing the success we desire. We are trending in a positive direction ultimately that knock is gonna have more umph to it in theses transfer battles. Still on the Top 4 train.

2022.01.25 13:13 JeroenSandstorm Supportive boots
I currently have some adidas x 19.2s that I use on 4g and I'm not happy with the lockdown/support. They're 15 months old so I'm happy to replace them now.
What are the best Adidas/Puma boots for lockdown? Budget is realistically <£100/$150
Historically I haven't got on well with leather boots like the copa Mundial/tiempos/puma ones so would rather not that style of boot

2022.01.25 13:13 maddie6ix9ineeeeeeee Recovery ❤️🩹
I almost relapsed today. Today I have recognized as to where one of my triggers originated from. When I eat something I don’t like, it’s either that I finish it or throw it out. I’ve been brought up in the “oh there’s kids dying finish your plate” rather than “eat till you’re full”. So today I wanted to try this cupcake and it was pretty trash and I ended up eating it all and all of these thoughts came rumbling to my mind about how I should just binge and invalidate myself. But I made it through and am proud of myself.

2022.01.25 13:13 Lottie_the_Red My experience of a professional colour analysis - why draping is really important and how my personal palette differs from the 'default' ones.
Hi Colour Analysis,
Long time lurker here. I decided to post about my experience getting professional colour analysis done. I bought a consultation as present to myself because I was fed up of some of my clothes looking great and others looking awful on me.
I would highly, highly recommend professional in person draping. I went with one of the top stylists in London, so I know they did a good job. They weren't cheap (£375 / $505 USD), but, the way I look at it is this... my clothing budget for the year is probably around £500-£700. I already knew my clothing wasn't coherent and not all of it suited me. So half of one year's budget was going on future-proofing my clothing choices, forever. It was money well spent because now I only by things that are flattering to me. I don't buy things that sit in the wardrobe unworn. It's also made shopping loads easier as I can easily discount lots of clothes, and I am confident it what I buy.
I was styled using the House of Colour system - see here for autumn. It has 4 seasons each with 4 sub-seasons (so 16 in total). Unlike the 12 season system, with HoC you are given one of the four seasons via the initial warm vs cool, bright vs muted draping, and then you are draped with every single colour in your season. Each one is assessed for how it looks on you personally. Some will be excellent. Some will be OK - good for patterns or trousers perhaps. Some will be awful (even though they are technically in your season). Some will be too overwhelming - so OK in pattern but absolutely not on their own. You are then given a broad designation about where you land - but you are absolutely free to use colours from the whole season.
Here's what my colour analysis came up with. I am a vibrant leaf autumn. In these images I've used the colour swatches from Kettlewell colours here . These aren't the exact colours I was draped with - in fact they're missing a really bright amber yellow and a bronze browny-green that I look good in... but they do use the HoC system and it'll do for this post!
The first image shows the 4 autumn seasons - leaf, soft, vibrant and dark.
The second image shows my personal reactions to colour - anything good gets a star - anything absolutely to avoid gets a red cross. You can see how individual this is and how I suit colours from across the autumn spectrum (apart from soft autumn - I actually look pretty bad in all soft autumn colours because I neeeeeed colour contrast and vibrancy). There are a couple of other subtle things in there that I've not covered - e.g. Soft White is OK as my 'white' neutral but must come alongside something else, the flint and lizard greys are OK as corporate skirt / trousers but mustn't come near my face, the lime and parrot green are too much and should appear in patterns only. The vibrant greens and purples are just awful. My stylist said it's really super rare to find autumns that actually suit purples... and grey is also difficult for many (although my husband is also an autumn and grey looks really good on him!)
Last image shows my individual best palette. - Hurrah!
I hope this gives some info on how the draping process should work. And also how much flex there is in the seasons... just because you don't suit a couple of colours in the season doesn't mean you're not that season. Also mix and match within your broader season - you might be surprised!
