2022.01.22 05:39 ProfessionalFarm6231 Really Annoying/creepy neighbor?
So I moved into a one bedroom apartment by myself (I'm 29 female) a couple months ago. The building is a four unit apartment building, each one bedroom. I was told by my landlords, who had just bought the property when I moved in, that they wanted one tenant per apartment. There are two apartments side by side on the first floor and same set up upstairs. I'm on the first floor and the neighbor in question is next to me. I was told it was just a retired man living there and they had kept him as a tenant, he had lived there when previous owners were in charge. I work overnight in healthcare.
So after I moved in I started seeing the neighbors brother around the property all the time and what I feel like is following me around the property. He must be in his 60s or 70s. If I leave for work and am locking up my door, out he comes at the exact same time. Our doors are directly across from each other and theres one main exit door. This will be at 1030 at night. He always smiles and just kind of lingers. It's happened so many times when I get home from work in the morning, doesn't matter if it's 7, 8 or 9, as I'm walking into the main doorway, bam, there he is again. We pretty much always bump into each other. One time I didn't walk into him so I go to bring my trash to the dumpster and out he comes. It's a pretty big parking lot and here he comes walking to the dumpster. He does smoke but idk I just feel like he's watching for when I get home and following me.
When I moved in it was nicer weather so he was frequently doing this. A bunch of times in the summer I would get home from shopping, grab my stuff from my car and as soon as I started walking to go inside, the brother who was sitting outside would get up and start trailing behind me to also go inside. My car spot is on the side of the house right next to the backyard and an enclosed cage area off the garage. A bunch of times it's happened that when Im driving exiting the parking lot at night to go to work the brother is standing near the concrete fence next to the street and will just turn his head and watch me as I leave. I just find it really unsettling and annoying. He has a habit of going in and out the house a million times so maybe that's why I keep running I to him?
It was definitely really annoying in the summer because as I said I work overnight and all I hear is them going in and out. And when I say in and out I mean this for example. He opens the door goes out for not even a minute comes back inside for not even a minute and then goes back out. Repeat this all day everyday for the whole summer. Until 2am and their ass is up at it again at 6am. And I've looked out the window to see and it's mostly the brother that is going in and out. When colder weather came I thought I would have a break from the annoyingness but no.
There is a shared basement that literally just has four cubicles for each tenants storage and a washer and dryer. But now the brother again is mostly going down there almost everyday in the morning hours until it gets dark just....hanging out down there? It annoys the shit out of me because I can understand doing laundry and I can't dictate when someone does laundry but because I can hear everything so clearly down there I don't feel it should be a hangout area. They have a couple of bikes and it seems like they're dragging and sawing stuff down there. One time they did laundry three days out of the week and then the other four days were just hanging out down there. And I feel so uncomfortable in my apartment because I feel like they're suffocating me. I feel like I can't even take a piss because they'll be in the basement listening. But pretty much ever since colder weather started the basement is their favorite place and they've woken me up several times with them going in and out of the basement not doing laundry.
Thankfully someone must have said something or the landlords caught on but one morning with the brother in the basement I hear the landlord randomly show up and hear his voice down there saying that his wife has a lot of questions about him and they need his info. I was hesitating to say something about him because I didn't want to just be like 'oh he's annoying', but at least now I know he wasn't supposed to be living there. I've been looking for another apartment and it sucks but I just don't know if I should tell all this to the landlords.

2022.01.22 05:39 DanSinclair Inverting Colors not Working
Hello, I am trying to use Goodnotes along the script of the musical I'm directing, to keep up with the cues annotated around it. The script is white background and black text, but due to the light in the tech booth, I'd like to make it black background on white text, but when I try changing the template to dark paper on Goodnotes, the text disappears. Is there a way to make a pdf "printable" in dark mode to then import it into Goodnotes? I can't seem to find a way to do this.

Are applications being accepted by UAB for international visiting student electives for spring 2022 (March-June)? I just checked their website and the application portal is open but not sure. Could anyone guide, please?
And when will applications be opening for summer (July 2022 and onwards)?

2022.01.22 05:39 coxie1102 Potentially going to need a mitral valve repair/replacement in the near future. I'm 23 and kind of feeling depressed right now thinking that my life expectancy is around 10 years for valve surgery. Have I misunderstood this? Or are people just generally content with this?
Hi all, I have Marfans syndrome and as a result moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation. I think I might be feeling the symptoms recently.
Haven't really had a good chat with my cardiologist yet but I'm getting a portable ECG to try and catch arrhythmias.
But yea.. last week I started a new office job and in the morning it was a bit of effort to get dressed and changed. Ended up with cold sweats an nausea at work but I got through the day. I'm hoping I've either caught a bug or it's just the stress and anxiety if a new job. But I can't help think it might be my valve too because I've also started feeling a little discomfort in my chest. Im 24 soon and still live with my mum. She says its anxiety and that she would notice if I was out of breath. I've not been going dizzy or passing out, and likewise I don't have swollen extremities. So I don't really know what to think.
Given a bit of research into valve replacement surgery, I understand that they last for around 10 years. So does that mean generally you die of a stroke/heart attack after 10 years? Or does this mean your valve is replaced with another one? To say I'm 23, it'd be a real big bummer if I was only expected to live till my mid 30s. I feel like I've only just finished uni..
So yea, does anyone here have any good news? Or "feel good" info? I'm in a depressive pit at the moment so it'd be nice to feel a bit of relief.
