2022.01.28 14:00 elsoldenoche I have a plethora of mental health issues and Animal Crossing is helping me cope
I am clinically severely depressed and also have ADHD, PTSD and anxiety. It's so bad that I became disabled in February of last year. I can barely get out of bed or take care of myself. My living situation is not healthy and my PTSD is triggered by it so I am constantly stuck in the freeze response. It's exhausting.
Animal Crossing helps me to cope with my issues. My seasonal affective disorder is alleviated by winter in the game. It's helping me to see the beauty in the snow and the season. The spruce trees having lights on them helped me get through Christmas. Watching the count down helped me through the new year. Building and decorating my island is making me feel like I can accomplish something. Changing my character's clothing and having her look cute makes me feel good because in real life I look disheveled almost every day. My villagers make me happy (Beau, Gala, Melba and Ruby are my favorites.) Some days I get excited to play it as soon as I wake up and it feels good to actually feel that when everything seems so bleak.
I'm in intensive therapy for my issues and I've been working working with my psychiatrist to get my meds right. My fiancee and I are working on getting out of our toxic living situation. I have better things to look forward to and I'm confident that my future will be brighter than it is now, but for right now, I'm very grateful for this game.

2022.01.28 14:00 ambaegbu EAD - Faxing Evidence
Just got an email from USCIS to fax evidence over for my EAD expedite request and I used iFax from my computer to do it, and got a notification that it was “sent”.
How did you guys fax the documents over to USCIS? I should be fine using iFax right?

2022.01.28 14:00 edfitz83 A guy is looking to make some money doing odd jobs, so he goes to the biggest house in the nicest neighborhood in town and knocks on the door.
He tells the owner he'll do pretty much anything. The owner says, "You're in luck. I was just going to hire someone to go around back and paint my porch. Are you a good painter?"
The guy says, "Yes sir I am!" So the owner grabs two gallons of reddish brown paint and a large brush. He tells the guy to knock on the door when he's done.
The owner is surprised when he hears the knock just 30 minutes later. He says, "Wow - that was fast. Are you sure you painted the whole porch?"
The guy says, "Yes sir - two coats! But mister, than wasn't no porch. That was a Mercedes."

2022.01.28 14:00 GTRacer1972 In our state, if you had to pick three favorite cities, what would they be and why?
Mine would be #1) New Haven. I lived there for 20 years total, most of my fondest memories are from there, I went to school there, albeit briefly (Albertus, SCSU, and Gateway), it feels like the mecca of culture in CT with Yale, all the galleries, restaurants, and boutiques, and the architecture. I love Gothic and Victorian and they have plenty of both.
#2) Stamford. I worked in Stamford for about 9 years at various restaurants and lived there for a year by Shippan. It's one of the few cities in the state that is actually growing in size significantly, it has a very NYC feel to it, it's close to the city, also on the water, has some of the culture New Haven has, nowhere near close, though, has a slightly better shopping experience than New Haven, and i also bustling with restaurants. And crime is almost non-existent compared to New Haven.
#3) Tie: Milford/Fairfield. Technically Fairfield is a town, but it actually has a higher population than Milford, which is a city. Milford is where my grandfather lived and had a condo on the water. So we were there all the time. Actually, my favorite grandparent was my mom's mom who lived in Waterbury, but there's no way I can add that city to this list. lol. And I grew up in Woodbridge, so I spent a fair amount of time at "Milford Rec" for those of you that remember it, and "Gomper" playing video games. Of, and Corner Pocket, which I think is still there. And then there's the mall, the beach, and so many stores as far as the eyes can see.
Fairfield is where my wife and I lived the last 6 years. We're back in Black Rock right now, but when we eventually buy a house we'd like it to be in Fairfield if we can swing it (Most likely it'll wind up being Shelton or Monroe, though). I used to not like the small city feel of it having lived in Woodbridge for 13 years as a kid, but the more we lived in areas like Bridgeport, the more we both grew to really appreciate Fairfield. Especially the north end.

2022.01.28 14:00 chargrilledchaz Can I fix and use a broken phone when insurance have paid out for a new one?
I claimed on my home insurance for a water damaged phone and they sent me the money for it (minus excess).
I've bought a new one but they never asked me to send them the dead one. I kinda fancy trying to repair it and my mum needs a replacement phone.
Is it illegal to use the phone in the unlikely situation that I actually fix it? They have the IEMI of the phone and all my details
I'm in England btw
