2022.01.29 02:06 Rocomet Planning on buying the combat patrol how should I build it?
Pretty much the title I’m 100% certain I’ll be getting the combat patrol and with most of the rules seeming to be out their I was wondering how should I build by dudes? Specifically the Ghostkeel.
I am new so I’m having a bit of trouble gauging what’s good.

2022.01.29 02:06 Goldhawk_1 [PSA] There needs to be clarification on taking control of an objective.
Aight. Way way way too many games where people (in casual) are just not doing good things in relation to trying to control the objective.
Currently I see a ton....a TON of people run straight to point, die immediately, flame everyone and lose a match.
This was well before the cauterize change too, so it's nothing something that has been caused by recent changes to the game.
I see a LOT of players thinking just touching point makes you win the game, flinging yourself to point doesn't make you win.
A better approach is to play off lanes or to play main carefully until you can SAFELY touch point. If you can't get on point because there's too much PRESSURE, fall back until the time is right.
You dont win being 100 to 0, you can win being 100 to 99. There's zero point camping the objective when your team is dying. The more resources you have to take and hold the point will get you the win, not you arbitrarily standing there thumb in mouth.
This means if you try to get to point, you can trade % if it's too dangerous. If the enemy gets 20/30/40% it doesn't matter. You gotta play the long con, and punish the enemy when you can.
If you run to point, get 35%, but your team is dying, leaving doesn't mean you are going to lose. In fact it's almost the opposite every time. Exhausting resources to fight 1, 2, or 3 men down means when those guys respawn, you're still staggered enough where no one has the ability to make a meaningful impact.
If you leave at 35%, get out safe, and regroup and thebenemy gets 45% because of this, it isn't a loss. The loss comes from staggering soswns and resources so much that you can't force the enemy away from the point.
You can win the fight at 45%, then by the time the enemy has regrouped, you could have much higher percentage or gotten the point depending on how aggressive your team is in regards to knocking them off horses and pushing them back.
So tldr: you don't have to touch point 100% of the time to get valuable play towards capping point.
Another thing I see a lot is people trickling in to contest point ar the end of a round
It's not a bad idea if you're stalling so a good chunk of your team can come back and contest.
However far too many people don't understand the concept of why this is good and how it can be bad.
It can be good because it gives you a small chance of winning. If they can stall long enough for you to get back then it's another team fight and that can change the course of the game. Yes, this is positive.
However, the above scenario isn't what happens. In fact, I don't think I've seen this done correctly in recent history.
If you're yeeting to point to contest and teammates aren't close enough to help make an impact you are FEEDING.
You gain nothing from this, and the enemy does gain from this. Not just with a win for the game or round, but they're also gaining ultimate charge because you're throwing yourself at the point for no reason.
If the round is lost LEAVE IT BE. they get more items and more ults from farming you. It might not seem like a big idea but if your enemy has level 3 haven and up have level 1 because you're giving them more currency it makes a difference.

2022.01.29 02:06 AJDerpatron Hard freezing, Force Feedback Still Active
Hi everyone. I keep having this issue where the game just hard freezes whenever I'm doing a race with other bots(24 cars, red bull ring GP, Ferrari SF70H).
What ends up happening after 10 min or so, is my display and sound just freeze, and then the wheel force feedback keeps going, as if the car is still moving in the game. If I try to alt tab, no windows show up and only my cursor shows. Only when I do CTRL + ALT + DEL twice does the game stop what it's doing and crash.
I've uninstalled Sol 2.2, went back to CSP 1.6, verified integrity of the game files via Steam TWICE, and it's still doing it's thing.
I'm at a loss for words right now and am accepting any help.
Specs: i9-9900k, RTX 2080, 32GB 3200MHz, 2TB NVME SSD (with windows installed), 1TB SATA SSD(weirdly has windows boot partitions, still boots fine), 1TB SATA HDD

2022.01.29 02:06 beatNick_ Writer’s Prejudice
‘Conciseness = clarity’ is a writer’s prejudice leading into a block. Imposing this unreasonable expectation allows conciseness to cripple your thinking to the point where you cannot flow with a single idea to the end it seeks that has no regard for the number of words nor a rational path to get there: that’s what makes it an idea. So when you write out ideas concerning conciseness, they miss out on their journey and then don’t feel complete: block.
When you do write concisely, it’s a staggering experience — because you’re imposing rules and conventions that predominantly interrupt the nature of thinking itself, which is already creating its own brand new rules for each thought — and that sentimentally makes it unclear as to what you’re ideas are meant to get at: block.
So you have to retroactively fill in and splice together ideas to clarify a concise message, and that’s just a draft. Ultimately, the prejudice against voluminous flow atrophies the very momentum of ideas that break a writer’s block: ideas that are allowed to have their journey with no rules from you don’t face such blocks.
We can see how conciseness and clarity oppose each other in various forms: 1. Consider that a screen is easily reducible to a dozen pixels, but what would that display? The difference could be as simple as a solid color blue vs. the blue brushed by a painter where you can see the carvings of the bristles leftover in the arc of paint: thus, one blue is a matter of fact whereas the other is a matter of what can be done by you, yourself - the former is a definition, and the latter is contextualized. 2. Illustrators make various sketches building up to the final drawing, which is the least concise input for maximal clarity. On the other hand, the first sketch is the most concise and insufficiently detailed. While the middle sketches that balance clarity and conciseness best are still incomplete visualizations of the desired output. 3. Game designers rely on polygons — thin flat slabs with straight edges and corners — to create the illusion of smooth, rough, soft, or liquid surfaces, nooks, curves, and so on; but to do all that requires a lot of polygons given they’re blocky, to begin with. Conciseness here would make for a lightweight product that is efficient but consequently restricts the level of detail to the point where you can only clarify simpler designs, shapes, and aesthetics, making for a less visually attractive game.
Consider a concise manual for a sophisticated machine and concise documentation for a customized software service; the complexity and details in play demand lengthier writing. Conciseness and clarity are in alignment over simple matters such as checklists: today’s to-do’s, shopping list, cooking recipe, and so forth.
Clarity and conciseness fight each other in the presence of other factors such as complexity, beauty, emphasis, density, and layering. Above all, an idea should be allowed to run its course without any expectations put on it; those expectations are the writer’s block.

2022.01.29 02:06 ElegantPenguin541520 The Daily Check-In for Saturday, January 29th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking
We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we're here together!
Welcome to the 24 hour pledge!
I'm pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.
Maybe you're new to /stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you're like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you've been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.
It doesn't matter if you're still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, lets not drink alcohol!
What happens if we can't keep to our pledge? We give up or try again. And since we're here in /stopdrinking, we're not ready to give up.
What this is: A simple thread where we commit to not drinking alcohol for the next 24 hours, posting to show others that they're not alone and making a pledge to ourselves. Anybody can join and participate at any time, you do not have to be a regular at /stopdrinking or have followed the pledges from the beginning.
What this isn't: A good place for a detailed introduction of yourself, directly seek advice or share lengthy stories. You'll get a more personal response in your own thread.
— "But a quiet voice within me said 'lay it down for a moment'"
The voice of intuition was always trying to tell me the truth - but I did not want to hear it. Sobriety has given me the gift of being able to listen in quiet moments, be present, and put down that heavy backpack of fears and regrets for a while.
It helps me to remember that each decision - and I do mean every type of daily decision - is a reflection of who I am. My wish is to be able to embrace the truth, be courageous, and live a life of integrity. This goal is still a work in progress, but … there has been progress, even if it is baby steps sometimes.
On an unrelated note, can I just say that reading usernames gives me great enjoyment? I suspect there is a backstory to many of them. Mine comes from a visit to an aquarium, and decimal numbers for the letters EDOT (every day one thing). Nothing secret about it except I made this name just for this very special group.
Thank you to everyone in this loving community for traveling with me this week.
