2021.11.27 00:22 kitaylor17 Gift ideas for a needlepoint beginner?
I’m looking for some ideas for Christmas presents (for myself lol, my mom wants to know and doesn’t have Reddit) I started needlepointing last year and I’ve done a few basic projects. I have a needle threader, and two needle minders. I have a plethora of needles, and some project bags for different canvases. I also have a copy of stitches to go.
Weirdly, I haven’t stitched on a frame (had trouble setting it up). I definitely think I’d like some light of some variety, suggestions welcome.
What would you suggest to upgrade my needlepointing experience?

2021.11.27 00:22 tankgro_86 Fireplace in an Entertainment Center Question.
Hey guys. Is there anything I should know when buying an electric fireplace to put into an entertainment center? Are there specific entertainment centers made for this or could I just buy an electric fireplace that fits right into my current setup. That would be my preference.
Thanks for the insight!

2021.11.27 00:22 Fable_Darling Three Hundred And Second Night
I've had this knawing headache all day. As much as I loathe the coming of winter at this point I wish it would just arrive already. My body has never handled the changing of seasons well. I used to get the worst migraines, a blinding aura and stomach-churning nausea, and I'm impossibly thankful for every day that passes without one.
I want to write to you. I want to enthral you with tales of accomplishment and progress but I've got nothing. I've been cross for days. I am teaming with energy but starved for motivation to do anything with myself, even as the activities and projects I could and should be doing scream at me from the back of my mind. This is what winter does to me. I don't know how I let it catch me by surprise every time. Frankly, all I can say is sorry for being a disappointment.
Yours & Mine,

Correct me if I’m wrong I know spirit did Egon and Peter but it’s surprising those eBay cosplay stores or cheap cosplay websites don’t have a version that’s higher quality just seems like a missed opportunity and something-that could be mass produced

2021.11.27 00:22 Conscious-Question22 I washed my hair recently
I don't really bother taking care of myself, but I washed my hair about two days ago. I'm glad I did, my hair feels soft. It's nice having these moments to feel proud of yourself for once. My friend laughed at me and told me it wasn't that big of a deal, but to me it is. I'm proud of myself :)

2021.11.27 00:22 reluctantleaders 7 day post op recap from someone having an unremarkable experience
Hey all, just wanted to share my general recap (will try not to go too in-depth) as someone who's having what I would consider a pretty boring and middle of the road recovery. A lot of the posts I see here tend to be people really struggling or people who are able to eat pizza and wings 2 hours post surgery so I wanted to share my 3/5 stars review lol.
For the record I'm 27F living in the US. I started having symptoms in mid August 2021, mostly just having diarrhea after eating fatty foods, general stomach pain, cramping, nausea, etc. I then started having gallbladder attacks in the middle of the night in September 2021. I saw a GI doctor in early October who referred me for blood work and an ultrasound. Both my grandma and my dad had gallbladder disease, I'm on birth control, and I've lost about 70 lbs so I have several risk factors. Blood work was totally normal but US showed gallstones. I had a consult with a surgeon on November 4 and surgery scheduled for November 19 2021. My out of pocket cost for surgery ended up being about $3,000. I have insurance with a $1300 deductible and $4000 max out of pocket, and I hadn't paid any of my deductible before surgery.
I went in for surgery at 530am, put me under at 730am, was out by 815am. Procedure was done laparoscopically. This was not my first laparoscopic procedure as I had my appendix out in 2018. When I woke up I was definitely in a lot of pain and felt extremely nauseous (common for me after anesthesia). I spent about 2.5 hours in the recovery room napping and waiting for the pain and nausea to go down. They gave me some medicine for both in the recovery room. My wife drove me home around 11am. I proceeded to take naps off and on for the next few hours, pain wasn't too bad except for when I had to get up to go pee. The first day post surgery I tried to keep a mostly liquid diet, I ate jello, soup, juice, water, maybe a few crackers. I took Vicodin and Zofran the first day following surgery. I tried to make sure I got up and walked around the first day which helped. I also took Gas X as much as possible. I had my wife there to take care of me which was a lifesaver, you definitely need someone with you the first 2-3 days.
The second day I tried eating a bit more, I ate mashed potatoes, rice, and air fried chicken breast. Also had some more crackers, juice, toast, etc. Everything felt fine. By the end of the second day I was able to go down to just Advil, no more Vicodin or Zofran. I also continued to walk as much as possible the second day, mostly just every time I went to the bathroom I would walk around my house for 5-10 minutes. It really helped with the gas, I was burping a LOT and farting every time I sat on the toilet. I also started taking stool softeners and Miralax on day 2. My pain throughout the day was around a 5/10, mostly hurt when I had to sit up or go from laying down to standing up.
Day 3-5 were more of the same, I continued trying new foods such as chick fil a nuggets, a sandwich from jersey mikes (no mayo), lean ground beef, some chocolate, etc. I did have some diarrhea after having a coke on day 5, but I think I just made a mistake by adding a fizzy drink to my already gassy body. I pooped for the first time (normal poop) on Sunday, my surgery was on Friday. I took stool softeners and miralax for 3-4 days to make sure everything kept moving. My pain got better every day, by day 4 I was just taking advil as needed. Also on days 2-5 I sometimes had a dry cough, especially at night, from the intubation, but just drinking water and getting up to walk around helped it go away.
I'm now on day 7 post surgery and things are going really well. Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I even ate some mac and cheese, a brownie, and red wine without issue. Today I had Chipotle with sour cream and cheese and I had coffee, all has been good. I've tried to gradually increase my fat to see how my body reacts, so for the first few days I had no more than 5-10g of fat per meal and kept it under 30g per day, then I moved up to 40g total with up to 15g per meal, and today I've been around 60g of fat (there was 30g in Chipotle alone) and still doing well. At this point I'm able to walk for about 15-20 minutes without getting tired, I can sit up in a chair for about 30 minutes without needing a break, riding in a car is comfortable as long as there's no speed bumps. I have to be careful not to lift more than 10 lbs which is hard because my dog is 17 lbs! I notice that I get fatigued easily, I was helping my wife with Christmas decorations and I got tired after about 20-30 minutes.
I'm hoping to go back to work full time on Monday which would be day 10 post surgery, but I'm open to waiting a few more days if I'm not ready yet. I'm a speech therapist and I work with kids so while heavy lifting is not required it's not exactly a desk job. I still have lots more things to try but I'm going to try and hold out for the big guns such as pizza, wings, etc until I'm about 4 weeks post op since I don't want to rush things. I am experiencing some acid reflux but I've been experiencing that for the past 10 or so years, I just think the gallbladder issues have exacerbated things. I don't take any other meds, vitamins, or supplements.
Happy to answer any questions anyone has about any part of my process! Just wanted to share my experience. I'm planning on coming back here in one month and one year to do another follow up since I don't see those as often unless they're people having a horrible time. Good luck to you all no matter what.

2021.11.27 00:21 TraqKay Stake with DCA strategy, network fees?
I start investing on crypto and i was thinking about putting a part of my salary every months (like a DCA) into eth that i would stake on StakeWise. The problem i see with this is the network fees that are flat (gas) if i buy eth with credit card, for example if i put 100€ per month, it represent around 10+% of fees to buy my eth (on Wyre) to my metamask wallet. There is a solution i don't see to counter this ?Look like too much fees to be a viable strategy ? My only way to improve is keeping my part i want to invest in my bank account and do every X months (like 3) to reduce the fees paid ?
Thanks a lot for reading.

When filing an amended complaint in Florida district court, is it permissible to reference statements and actions in the proceeding made in the interim between the original complaint and filing the amended version, or does the amendment have to be written as if it were drafted at the time the original complaint was filed?
