2021.11.30 14:30 No_Emotion5003 Growing from seed for pots/containers - spacing?

Hello!
Fairly new gardener here (though I've learnt a lot this year!) so apologies if this is a daft question.
When growing annual flowers from seed, if you start them indoors until they are seedlings/very young plants, how many do you then put in each pot?
On seed instructions it says things like "plant out 20-25cm apart". Does that mean if you have a 30cm diameter pot, you should only put 1 to 2 seedlings/young plants per pot?
Thank you!

tommymac84 is your Week 12 Milly Maker winner!
Winning Lineup
First, just want to apologize for missing last week's post. It was a hectic week traveling for Thanksgiving, and I forgot to make the Reddit post after creating the article. But glad to be back to analyze one of the weirdest slates yet!
Stacking faired abysmally this week which was surprising to me given how rushing QBs performed. I knew it was going to be a week where less of the field stacked due to Cam Newton and Tyrod Taylor being rostered in 25% of lineups. Their cheap salary and rushing upside made it less important to stack teammates with them. But both of those QBs failed to return value, and it was still not profitable to stack this week. Leonard Fournette was the real money maker this week by scoring 4 of the Buccaneers 5 touchdowns. He's one of those classic "hindsight plays" that you kick yourself for not playing more because he checked off several boxes - low rostership, alpha RB getting all the touches, consistently getting 6+ targets, and being on the team with the highest implied point total. He was just so hard to get to because there were (seemingly) smash plays above him with JTay and CMC, and below him with Saquon and James Robinson. But congrats to those of you were over-leveraged on both him and Mixon!
The key to gaining an edge is understanding how winning lineups are built differently than the field. See how winning lineups were built differently in week 12!
For the Week 12 analysis all lineups are split into 4 subgroups:

2021.11.30 14:30 DJLowKey Hey! It's the 100k Options Guy from 2 weeks ago. Thanks to all you apes, I made everything back (and more!) AMA

Hi. Not sure you remember me, but previously I said options were not great for everyone. I showed that I lost on GME options in the past because I was emotionally attached to GME and just kept waiting for the 🚀🚀🚀🌙.
I learned this was not an ideal strategy. I tried a new strategy over the past couple weeks and was able to get back all that I had lost previously and increased my share count significantly.

TLDR I still think options are tricky and you should not use them soley because popular people in this sub are saying you should. But if done right, they are very powerful. I DO think buying shares and DRSing them is very, very smart.
Part I - The Post I wrote this post last week. It has over 6900 points (nice).
Some people appreciated it. I’m happy I helped them.
My original intent for the post was to help the apes who were inundated with options talk and felt like they had to join in or take a side. I wanted them to understand the risks a bit more. I see so many touching posts of apes scraping money together to get a few shares. I think it’s really condescending to tell them to quickly learn the complexity of options and to take their hard-earned money to buy an expensive option.
I never thought it would get that much visibility or be a part of a larger argument on the sub.
Part II - The Backlash Although many people seemed to find some value in my post, many people did not. They told me I didn’t know anything about options (despite my past gains) and that I was not a professional options trader (despite me never claiming anything close to that).
I am a simple ape. I am not a professional options trader nor professional day trader. I’ve never worked in finance, but I’ve worked in the video game industry, which is why I’m so partial to GameStop.
I can’t even draw lines or triangles or doritos or anything.
Comments on my post said I was being greedy. Or they said that I was wrong and that options actually do a great deal of good to allow someone to create leverage by exercising their shares, or by helping to build their warchest by selling options for a profit. Options, they said, will be what ultimately causes MOASS.
People also said I was misleading about the options because of the date. They claimed there were no monthlies available for the date I showed (11/12). That is true because I bought monthlies and later rolled to weeklies. I don’t think that’s misleading as I was trying not to confuse people with talk of rolling options.
Others mocked it. This user stopped commenting on GoneWild long enough to write a post about me. It was amplified on a certain discord which lead to even more people commenting on my original post, downvoting it, and sending me insulting DMs and such.
I read this post about me on the toilet. Sitting there so long gave me a hemorrhoid, so it hurt physically as well as emotionally. Boy oh boy, did that user show me. He said I was a big dummy and didn’t know anything. I checked his post history. He didn’t seem to have any great posts or explainers of why he was great at options or pictures of yachts and mansions he bought from options gains, but still...it stung.
Part III - The Revelation Section 1 - My personal revelation The comments hurled at me made me do some self reflection. I realized, once again, that I was trading GME with emotions. I decided to not do that and see what happened.
They said I should’ve sold at the top. I always thought that was a form of day trading. But apparently, with options you should just plan your exit whenever you have the profit you are looking for. Or exercise the shares, even if you take a loss. I found it interesting to see some of these very same apes call out price anchoring and claim they aren’t selling for “anything less than a phone number” say I should’ve sold my options when GME was at $250, but I digress.
They said I was greedy. Actually, I agree with that last part. In fact, I decided to be even greedier this time around. Why leave all the greed to the SHFs?
Section 2 - My revelation about this beautiful sub. Not all apes care about all apes. Sad but true.
There was a time not too long ago when we said all apes matter and the big whales were talking about how they hold for X and XX holders. Now many apes say trading options and day trading is OK because it helps you get more GME shares (or at least make some profits to potentially buy GME shares). These same apes mock people for caring about the real share count or locking in the float or the potential of an NFT dividend or waiting to see what RC has to say, even though he said his options are to HOLD or HODL Apparently they don’t believe in locking up the float via DRS and think people who talk about stock prices the size of phone numbers are delusional idiots.
Part IV - The Play Section 1 - November 22nd Run Up With my new found conviction and desire to prove wrong the poopyheads who made fun of me, on Nov 18, I bought slightly OTM calls options, even though some popular DD writers said buying OTM calls was a bad idea. I was conflicted, because other popular DD writers used examples of buying $460C.
Either way, I did my own DD and had a strong conviction that these OTM calls would soon be ITM.
*So I bought multiple Feb 2022 250C for $2600 each. *
I was very happy during the run up on Nov 22. However, I was wary about the people who said I should sell at the top. I did a bit more research. Despite some quants claiming that Nov 23 was going to be a day with violent upside potential and a conservative target of $250-$280, I felt like there was a nonzero chance that the quants were wrong. And I didn’t want to be too greedy. Cellar Boxing Guy had a really good post that stuck with me (and was sadly lacking in upvotes). And I saw some good tweets out there from people. But in the end, the decision was mine and only I could make myself push the sell button.
So, on Nov 22, I sold multiple Feb 2022 250C for $5000 each.
Apparently, this is not day trading, because we are talking about options and they have to be leveraged. Day trading only counts if you are selling shares because that drives the price down. This was locking in gains, as the commenters told me to do. Plus my eventual plan is to buy more shares.
Section 2 - November 23rd Rug Pull People were all talking about how options are the way, but I’d only seen people talking about buying calls, which was strange, because there are many, uhh options for options, and I was pretty familiar with puts from the 2020 crash.
As soon as I sold my calls, and for the first time ever, I bought puts on GME. It felt icky, but I was no longer trading on emotion - my love for gamestop was on the back burner because I knew this would allow me to get more shares of GME. Plus, as I said, I had a strong conviction that some of these predictions for the week would not come true.
I bought January puts and weeklies (NOOOOO don’t buy weeklies, that’s stupid and throwing your money away!). The longer dated ones grew by about 30%. I got out of those pretty quickly, because it still felt icky.. But the Nov 26 230 Puts I bought at $230 were worth much more after the rug pull. I sold them at open on Nov 24 for about $1900 each.
I could’ve played it safe and took profit at 200% (very conservative) but then it wouldn’t have grown like this. This is a per call option calculation. Also, please realize that I am rounding some of these numbers. You are not catching me in a lie if I actually sold a call for $4,950 instead of $5,000.
2,600 --- 5,000 --- 41,300
Now if you factor in increased leverage on each buy netting extra contracts per run you’d get...
1x contract 2600 --- 2x contract 5000 --- 15x contract 41300
Basically for every 2,600 call option I would have had, I now have 15 of them. Thanks for the pointers, fellow apes!
On top of this, I was also selling covered calls on my shares. I know selling calls is risky because I would’ve been screwed if MOASS happened last week. Technically, I’ve heard “MOASS tomorrow” on 145 separate days already this year, so I deduced that there was a less than 0.69% chance of MOASS actually occurring last week.
If you bought a weekly 250C, thank you. You have donated your money not to Kenny or to Shitadel, but to a fellow ape. I used that to buy more longer-dated options, which will net me even more shares. Thank you for your contribution.
If it wasn’t specifically a call I was selling, it’s possible it was the call of someone else who was promoting the buying of options on the sub, so I’m sure they appreciate your effort as well.
So, hypothetically (this is purely hypothetical because gain/loss posts are not allowed) - If I started with $26k and used the above strategy (blending long and short term options), I hypothetically made approximately $243k on the run up and rug pull of the last two weeks.
Part V - The Aftermath To any of the major options proponents, feel free to point out any holes in my strategy. I won’t tag you here, but I’ll come to the post that will likely be created mocking this one and have a forthright discussion with you there, if you’d like.
I guess the doubters will say I just got lucky. But that would be fairly belittling and without any true merit. I took lessons learned from all you helpful (and not so helpful) apes. It would also be weird that I get knocked for not selling at the top previously, but called lucky for selling at the top this time around.
Or they will likely say I made the whole thing up because once upon a time I incorrectly called weekly options monthlies without clarifying that I rolled the monthlies into weeklies. They may request that I post proof or be banned, and make me the lone exception on this sub who has to post proof of their trades. My reply to them - “Trust me, bro”
Either way, I’m not going to use up my energy fighting back the haters. There seems to be more of them recently, and they seem to be coordinating in some ways. So, if you post a comment on here calling me a shill or saying that I’m full of 💩 please know that I wish nothing but the best for you, but you can kiss my 🍑, hemorrhoids and all. 😜
I still don’t advise doing this because as everyone says - you should only buy options if you know what you are doing. And Puts still feel gross, but it’s not like I’m selling shares as a day trader. Puts are just another tool in the arsenal, especially if you have cash laying around and want to sell cash secured puts, but that’s a story for another day.
If the end goal here is to have more money to buy and register more shares, then I think all options should definitely be used. After all, we have an army of apes reading the charts and practically predicting the price movement. We know the cycles now, right? Again, proponents of options and god tier DD posters, please correct me if I’m wrong.
Part VI - What’s Next If there is interest, I'm thinking of creating a daily post that has a summary of my moves for the day. Since posting gains or positions is not allowed, I cannot post my actual trades, but I’m happy to give general thoughts about trends and non-financial advice about when would be a good time to buy or to sell your options.
I’ll also likely have a link to my monetized youtube channel, my twitter, and my discord, so everyone can follow along no matter their platform of choice.
Actually… that sounds too much like self promotion, which is against the rules of Superstonk. I think what I’ll actually do is buy more shares, put some purple rings on them, and fade into the background. I love this sub for all it’s taught me and all the brilliance of you apes out there, but this sub has been changing over the past few weeks and I’m not a huge fan of it. Rather than be a lone voice of dissent, I think I’ll just keep buying shares from 🍦💩🪑 and buying games from my favorite store.

Cheers.
TLDR

  1. If you are going to listen to people who preach options then it’s foolish to only use one type of option. That’s like using a toolbox with just hammers. If you are going to do something, don’t half ass it.
  2. Apparently, it doesn’t count as day trading when selling options because you want to make sure you exit with a profit if you aren’t exercising those options.
  3. If you are going to stay away from options, then that’s great. I bet you are sick of the sub being taken over by options talk. I get it. In that case, you can just buy, hodl, and DRS. 🍦💩🪑
See you true apes on the moon. 💎👐🦍🚀🚀🚀🚀
