2021.11.28 02:12 fromalullaby Tattooing over scars

In person I’ve heard mixed options on this topic. Will the scar texture effect how the result turns out? It’s a lot more smooth now that it’s been a decade, but I have a 10 inch scar on my thigh that was 3 inches deep before stitches and staples. I’ve heard from some that the area will feel numb or less to no pain, and I’ve heard from others that it will be even more sensitive. What’s your opinion? Thank you for reading, I just wanted to ask a tattoo artist. I appreciate it, I hope this type of post is allowed here.

2021.11.28 02:12 RottenLasagna1 Why do I crave food at night?

I would say my diet contains enough macros, but mentally I crave food like a crazy person. I don’t feel actually hungry like when your stomach rumbles, I just want to eat. Yesterday I had to stop myself from going to the fridge twice, and three times when I actually opened the fridge. No matter what I eat that day I will get hungry at night. I hope it’s just a matter of body habit, which hopefully I can overwrite through trial and error alone.

2021.11.28 02:12 gudetamagoodegg feeling bad about feeling "better"?

I relapsed pretty badly over the summeearlier this fall, but recently have been motivated to start recovery again because I've started to feel my body falling apart and shutting down. I haven't yet managed to completely stop restricting but have been challenging rules about what, when, and how much I eat, and I've been feeling a bit bettestronger over the past few weeks. To any rational person, this would be motivation to keep going, but for some reason my brain is screaming at me to stop. I just don't understand -- I decided to try again because I was tired of feeling faint and dizzy, struggling to breathe, racing heart, and overall being on the brink of collapse. So why is my brain now telling me that everything is wrong now that I'm literally moving in the exact direction that I wanted to?
Looking for anything that anyone else is willing to share -- similar experiences, explanations for why this is happening, and/or advice and encouragement on getting through this?

2021.11.28 02:12 numberduck Advice from an old dnd guy

I'm pretty new to this sub bc I haven't played/DVD in 8 years. I'm itching ro get back bc I love the game. That said, I have 1 piece of advice for DMs...
DON'T ALLOW PLAYERS TO DERAIL YOUR STORY.

  1. Study. Know the system.
  2. Define your intent for PCs during character creation. 3.Enforce the intent you described during character creation. 4.interview your players about their characters. Establish goals, reward them when they progress and punish them when they fail 4.5 take notes. 5.Intersting NPCs. Make NPCs that attract PCs based on your previous interviews. This is where DMing gets fun. If your plot is solid, you can sit back and watch as your PCs deliberate. Atp you know you have entrapped on your plot. 6:This is the filler phase. Give them side missions. Let them level up. Whatever system/version you're running; make them feel powerful. All players want this. It's they're end goal.
  3. Have your NPCs divide. For whatever reason split these characters you've made and watch the party argue.( at this point is important to isolate players for further interviews. For example the Mage goes off the rails chasing an uncontrollable artifact. Paladin loses faith, blah blah so many possibilities.
  4. Atp your PCs should be united. Let them decide which NPC to defeat, grant a small bonus from the NPC they support. They will all feel that teamwork endorphin.
  5. CAVEAT: Some people are just assholes. Don't play with assholes.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

2021.11.28 02:12 Worf1701D Philly Winning the NFC East?

As much as I don't want it to happen, if Philly wins on Sunday they would be one win behind the Cowboys in the NFC East. They would have plenty of momentum and incentive to try to win the division. If it comes down to the final game in Philly on Jan. 9, do any Cowboys fans think they could go to Philly and win? I think the Eagles would play with so much energy from the crowd, there is no way the Cowboys could win it. Hopefully, it won't come down to that, but stay tuned.

2021.11.28 02:12 phoenix0r Working mom burnout hitting me hard but scared to make a change

My kids are 3 (M) and 6 (F) and I love them more than anything in the world. My husband has a great job and his income alone this year has now surpassed our combined incomes from just 2 years ago. I also have a hard-fought career that I love and worked extremely hard to build. I make great money but it’s also very demanding and stressful work. I have basically been exhausted for 6 years, and it’s taken a toll on my physical and mental health. I take Adderall due to ADHD but sometimes it feels like I just take it to give me the energy to deal with my never ending mountain of tasks. And yes I outsource as much as possible but even that still take a lot of time and effort to manage. Additionally I often take work calls from many other time zones which means at least once a week I have calls starting at 7:30am and going as late as 6:30pm and occasionally have 9pm calls. It cuts into my family time. Since money is good right now we live pretty well. I love the financial security and freedoms my career brings but Lately I have been finding very little day to day satisfaction in my job. My kids have been in daycare or with a nanny since they were 6 months old, mostly due to necessity like many families, but now that my husband is doing so well, it feels like my job is no longer worth the time away from them. I am finding myself dreaming about walking away from my amazing career to be a SAHM for a while or maybe take on some part time passion projects. But that said, my career has been a huge part of my identity for most of my adult life. And while we could live comfortably on my husband’s income, losing my income would still be a big hit and require some adjustments to our lifestyle. So I’m wondering if I’m just burnt out and would miss my career after 6-12 months. It would be difficult to get back to where I am now, even after a short break from the work force, unfortunately. Any career moms here who have left their jobs and found satisfaction in less demanding PT work or as a SAHM? Did you regret it later or was it a great choice?
TL;DR- Feeling lots of mom burnout; Husband now makes enough money to support our entire family, unsure if I should leave my stressful and demanding but generally beloved career or consider other changes.
