2021.12.01 03:04 Due_Attitude765 My (30f) needs aren't being met due to boyfriend's (33m) depression, and idk what to do
My boyfriend of 1.5 yrs has become severely depressed due to some recent health issues, and I've been trying really hard to be understanding and supportive of him, even giving him more space since he's expressed needing time alone. However, the withdrawing and lack of affection, time together, intimacy, and sex has been a serious struggle for me and my attachment issues. Gradually over the past couple of months my needs have been getting met less and less despite sharing with him my concerns, which is causing me a lot of unhappiness in the relationship. I feel really stuck since I know he's personally struggling but I also have needs, and I don't know what's realistic to expect from him right now or how long I should tolerate this. It's also frustrating that aside from therapy he's not really doing much to try and help himself, and if he doesn't change anything then nothing changes.
TLDR: My boyfriend of 1.5 yrs has become severely depressed due to some recent health issues, and I've tried to be emotionally supportive of his needs during this time, but my needs are no longer getting met in the relationship and I'm really struggling as a result. I don't know what's realistic to expect from him or how long I should try to tolerate this. Any advise?

2021.12.01 03:04 quicktofu 24 [M4F] seeking companionship and relationship. East coast nyc Online or in person
Looking for someone to spend the day chatting for company. It's nice having some company while you live your life heh. Online to start with eventual meet up maybe, no pressure. My interests include bike riding, drawing, and cooking. I game in my personal time, particularly genshin impact and some Nintendo titles like smash. I enjoy watching comedies and dramas. True crime is new found interest of mine as of late. I love to joke around but am quite the hopeless romantic. Im a bit of a homeboy i hope you don’t mind that!
Would prefer someone who is as health conscious as i am. Location doesn’t matter. Pic provided https://i.imgur.com/FPTdeXb.png
Please be genuine about seeking someone as well. Thank you im down to discord or vc chat, let's take it slow!

2021.12.01 03:04 M4n0fF6wW0rd5 Two simple steps for getting rid of old toys
Hi there. Parting ways with and old friend is hard, even if that friend is a childhood toy. But it's time to move on. You have to let go of that cute, stuffed bear (or doll, action figure, Lego mini, or other trinket).
Not to fear. I have a simple, two step process for leaving it behind.
1a. Find the right moment to begin the process. Don't start when you're feeling down, but don't begin when you're too upbeat, either. You will feel worse when this is over. Find a time in the middle, when you're not too happy or depressed.
1b. Make sure the toy had a life well lived. Only part with one that's had a full, happy life with you, and has matured. The most heinous act is killing a toy in it's prime. And only pick one. Two is too much. You'll only barely be able to get through one at a time.
1c. Be sure you're ready. Convince yourself this is the right choice. There can be no doubt moving forward. It's been too long, it's haunted you for too long, you have to leave it now before it can torment you any longer.
1d. Keep it tidy. Like older gentlemen wearing wearing suits, your toy must look it's best in it's final days. Clean it, wash it, clothe it. Make it spiffy. And, I cannot stress this enough, do not let it look at itself in the mirror, it will not be pleased. It's never pleased, that's why you have to get rid of it.
1e. Reminisce with it. Take it to your favorite places, watch it's favorite movies. Make a project together, share your love. It wants to be loved. It wants you.
1f. Grieve. It's sad. I know. But let the sadness cleanse you of any fear; if you already feel the grief, then nothing else is stopping you from leaving your toy behind. But don't ever let the toy see you cry. So far, you've kept it blissful, happy. Please, don't change that.
1g. Listen. Hear it. It tells you something in a voice you remember, but can't quite recall. It speaks in tongues you don't fully recognize but still understand. It wants something. It knows. Somehow, it always knows. Maybe if you listen closer, listen longer, you'd understand, but you can't seem to do it. You want to help it, but there's no helping now.
1h. Be afraid. Fear is determination. It no longer whispers; it shouts. It demands more love, begs you to keep it. But you know what happens if you do. You've had it for so long, long enough to recognize it's threats. Fear is determination. Fear gives you the strength to ignore it's pleas, fear gives you the will to do it before it's too late. Be afraid, because fear gives you reason to run.

Does anyone have suggestions for which 214 professors are good? I’m probably planning to take it with McCleerey (who’s only taught it once before and doesn’t have a RMP) so I’m wondering if anyone has had him before/knows what he’s like

2021.12.01 03:04 wastedscientist 29 M we are all fucked up by our parents
We are who we are least in our 20s, shaped by how our parents brought us up. It’s bitter but I feel it’s the truth. I don’t blame my parents as they did not have a manual (being the older child) to how to raise one. Would like to get to know others who might or might not share the same feeling. I know I don’t have tits but take a chance on a meaningful conversation

2021.12.01 03:04 jollyjamzsolar Is it possible?
i’ve dated the same individual for 2.5 years. through our relationship, communication has been an issue. very poor communication throughout our relationship (expressing feelings / dealing with confrontation etc.)
as well, my partner has sought out validation / attention a handful of times from other men via dating apps (tinder, hinge, bumble…) they would create a profile, converse / flirt with matches for a couple days, then delete. i wasn’t aware this occurred until a few days ago… they swear there was zero meetups / physical activity, just messaging. reasons - validation, insecurity, and wanting attention from another.
do you think it’s possible for a partner to change their behavior & not repeat hurtful actions? if so, what’s the best way to approach moving forward to make sure it’s a healthy, committed ,truthful, loving relationship.

2021.12.01 03:04 -PHI- Mouse recommendation - is DeathAdder V2 Pro right for me?
For the past 9 years I've been using a trusty old G400 exclusively. I've never used any other "gaming" mouse. It's now developed a double click issue in the RMB so the time has finally come to replace it.
Since I use my PC many hours a week and I also game sometimes I want to get something that's quality. I would really also like to get something that would last. As you might tell, I'm not the type of person who likes to buy/replace things often.
I've looked at a lot of mice but I got spooked by the prevalence of double click issues I found on the internet so I'd like to try optical switches, which narrows the field quite a bit. Still, I don't know everything that's out there.
Things I'm looking for: -Ergonomic - I worry about these mice that are too "flat" for long-term health reasons. I prefer the wrist to be a bit rotated. I guess my grip would be classified as "hybrid." -A larger size is probably better than a smaller size. (G400 is a big boy) -Wireless -Optical switches - The G400's buttons are very clicky and have no pre/post travel so I worry a bit about the potential differences in tactility but perhaps it's just a matter of adjustment. -Weight doesn't matter much. Light weight sounds interesting and I'd like to try it but the g400 is a hefty honker so most anything will be an upgrade. -I don't care what it looks like. All RGB will be permanently turned off. -Ideally something that's likely to last at least a couple years. -low latency, accurate sensor, so no "business"-class stuff (I guess).
The Razor DeathAdder V2 Pro is the choice I'm favoring so far. I don't know what to think about the QC of Razer products, but it seems like there's plenty of bad reviews to find for every mouse out there.
Still I want to make the right choice. If anyone could point me towards any other mice that are either similar to the DeathAdder or seem to fit the criteria above that you think might be a good fit for me I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

2021.12.01 03:04 BaxyBoo Federal Railroad Raise Negotiation
I (21M) work for Canadian Pacific Railway, (in Canada) on the management side, benefits are decent and they give an annual bonus but they’re stingy on annual raises…
Last year I got 1.5% and with inflation getting close to +5% I mentioned that I wasn’t comfortable with anything less than them matching it. This led to my assistant superintendent telling me that while he agrees “it’s just the way they’ve always operated”.
What sucks is that with the company as lean as it is, if I escalate my concerns I’ll ending speaking with GM’s even senior VP’s. The next leg from there is the board of directors, who approve every single employees raise and bonus.
To provide some context, I’ve got a good reputation and am told I do great work. Even relocated to a short staffed location just to put the cherry on top.
Is there anyway I can actually work towards a raise of more than 1-2% this year to keep up with inflation?
Has anyone had experience negotiating a higher raise while working for the railroad?
More than willing to share more if need be. Thanks in advance.
