2021.11.29 06:06 Dilos1 Question About Canis Rex Model
I've been thinking about getting a knight as a painting project for a while now (Going for an SoB theme), and was wondering if the Canis Rex box I keep seeing at my LGS has the optional bits needed to make the other variations. Asking because I honestly like how the Knight Paladin looks over the others.

2021.11.29 06:06 silenthunt Game Pass player here, here are my thoughts on the game after my first playthrough
My personal experience with Souls-like games: Long time Souls Veteran, I've played every FromSoft game bar Demons Souls plus a few other Souls-likes here and there. I installed this game on midday Saturday and finished it Monday evening after work.
First couple hours of the game I walk into the Fallgrim swamp. I go right. I kill a couple of enemies, the tall dude with the big stick looks kind of intimidating but he goes down without too much trouble. I crawl through a hole and come across those scary ghoul things and got nommed on a few times. I noped the fuck out of there real quick. I'm walking around this swamp trying to look for items and find the first bonfire-equivalent in the game. I come across a cave entrance with very scary growling noises coming from the other side - nope, I walk away. I walk through a door to find a scary lady. Oh, she's the Firekeeper equivalent! Holy crap the upgrades in this game are expensive. None of these items show me what they're meant to do, I guess I'm just meant to experiment with them. Suddenly I'm an expert Lute player now. Now what does this item do - oh wow, that mushroom poisoned me and took away half my health. Bit of a dick move for the game when I already have hardly any healing mushrooms at the beginning. Man this place is massive, I keep getting lost and I don't wanna go too far away from the Sester just to die and be super far away from my souls. Guess I'll go challenge whatever that scary monster thing in the caves is. Oop, he impaled me with a spike, well that was a quick first death. I keep trying - the thing is scary but his moveset seems fairly simple, but I don't have a lot of health and I deal relatively little damage - it's a long game of hit and run and trying not to make too many mistakes. Eventually, the scary monster goes down. Whew, man this game is tough.
Combat I found the combat pretty satisfying. Even though I've fallen out of love with the slower, weightier combat of Dark Souls (and even Bloodborne) in favour of the faster combat of Sekiro, I thought there was a reasonable amount of depth to the combat in Mortal Shell. The Harden system is particularly interesting in enabling a lot more aggressive play, even if it does often devolve into hit-and-run tactics. I think the combat really shines in one-on-one duels like fighting Hadern in the weapon unlocks. Unfortunately it seems like 70% of the game is fighting mostly trash mobs who cease being a threat once you get a few weapon damage upgrades, and combat mostly becomes an exercise in performing running R2->R1 combos from enemy to enemy as you move from point A to point B (Why yes, I do use the Hallowed Blade, how did you know?).
Difficulty Curve So the beginning of this game was tough, real tough. Having very few healing items at the start rather than having a fixed supply of healing a la Estus Flasks was honestly pretty annoying because unless you run in circles farming mushrooms, you're always going to have a super limited and finite supply of healing. I guess the Tarnished Seal is meant to help alleviate this, but being a bit of a goober I failed to find this item until a couple of hours of exploring in Fallgrim. I did manage to defeat the Grisha outside the tower after several tries though! And then I completely failed to find Solomon's shell until I beat my first dungeon XD
The first temple I went to was the Shrine of Ash, and the difficulty felt about right for a first run through. After that I found a few more damage upgrades and found Tiel's shell and, well, the difficulty curve felt like it fell off a cliff right there. I've always found it helpful in Souls games to soft cap stamina relatively early on, and the benefits definitely show in this game. Having such generous i-frames on the dodge move coupled with Tiel's massive stamina reserves, plus the game being very generous with proccing Tiel's passive, meant that I seldom died unless facing tough enemies or being very careless. As a default shell, Harros' stamina in particular strikes me as extremely limiting until you obtain a few of his upgrades to make combat a bit more manageable. In summary, I'd describe Mortal Shell's difficulty curve as 'uneven'.
Bosses First boss was the fat fire dude. Died to him the first time due to drinking from the chalice without healing at the Sester first and I was on super low health. Second time I discovered he is super cheese-able by hardening against his charging flail attack, and he went down easy.
The Ice Knight is probably my favorite boss, cool attack patterns (heh), good difficulty and interesting moveset. Also beaten on the second try.
The Siamese twins was third. His fast attacks and fast recovery made it difficult to get good hits in, but he's still super vulnerable to hit and run tactics. Beaten on the first try.
Birb boss - this was definitely the most difficult fight, and it felt like my trusty Hallowed Blade wasn't really cutting it anymore. Good thing I fully upgraded the hammer and chisel before this fight - it seemed to do a pretty good job of staggering the birb so I could get more hits in. Beaten on the third try, cool boss.
Atmosphere I'm not gonna lie, having played through Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne, and various other Souls-inspired series with generally grim and dreary atmospheres, I have serious dreariness-fatigue. That's not something I hold against the game, the developers obviously knew the direction they were going for and the end result is definitely fantastic. But nowadays I much rather go through the colourful sceneries of feudal Japan in Sekiro a tenth, than try to trudge through another game that feels like 70% crypts and swamps again. The three temples aren't that much better, I think. The fire and ice temples were fine, the obsidian(?) temple just felt super huge but empty.
Miscellaneous systems The weapon system felt odd, to be honest. Without damage upgrades the weapons feel super weak, and having only enough acids to fully upgrade two weapons on the first playthrough was a bummer. I'm also not sure why you're limited to carrying one weapon at a time considering the items to summon the weapons are unlimited use - not that you'll have much reason to use them on the first playthrough except for the other weapon you're able to use acids on.
The item familiarity system seems interesting on paper but didn't really feel good in practice. I tried for a while not to spoil myself by just looking up the items online, but after a while I just decided I couldn't be bothered and consulted the wiki. Even then, I thought a lot of these items seemed pretty useless. A lot of them seem to be one-use consumables that never felt like they were worth using in the moment. I used a single Mortal Token at the beginning of the game (in the first fight against Hadern, which I lost anyway), and then never used another item that enhanced your parry or harden ability ever again. It seems to be these items effects would have better served as ability upgrades for your riposte and harden ability - much better than that silly hardening in the air ability. If you give me limited consumables, then I'm just not going to use them, game!
Closing Thoughts This was a really interesting game, one that I was excited to play every day after getting over the early-game hump. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to play through NG+, and the aforementioned dreariness-fatigue is the biggest factor behind that, I think. For an indie game though this was a solid title that gave a good amount of enjoyment (infinitely more value for money on the game pass, of course!), and I look forward to the next title from the devs.

2021.11.29 06:06 daboiidevin Help me find the sauce.
So I remembered a manhua in which the FL had a Friend whom her father adopted I think. The Fl’s and her friend had a falling out which was if I remember correctly due to the fact that the Fl’s friend was jealous of the Fl. It also turned out that the Fl’s father used to take advantage(r**e) her friend.
I’m not sure if this helps but this is a romance manhua.

2021.11.29 06:06 pupcute Insecure about the way I look/weigh
So I used to exercise regularly about 2 months ago however nowadays I’m not able to as I’ve got exams going on. I stumbled upon some pictures of when I was working out and got extremely disappointed and sad that I don’t look the way I did back then.
I don’t get time nowadays to exercise as I’m spending most of my time studying. I try to eat healthy but I get hungry in between study breaks and crave something tasty. I think about eating less or more healthy but end up making that packet of ramen I’ve been thinking about.
I try to tell myself that it’s cool, I’ll start exercising again once I’m finished with exams but still I’m not satisfied. I don’t like the way I look right now and as much as I don’t want to think about it, I do. Whenever I take a bath and look at my naked self in the mirror, I find some flaw to think about. I even think that my breasts are getting bigger in size (kind of already insecure about them)
Plus I liked exercising as it gave me a boost of serotonin and I felt good about myself. I remember that I used to be satisfied about my body most of the times and I hate feeling this way.
Looking for any advice or if someone has gone through something similar
