2021.12.01 00:03 AcidCatfish___ How can we stop them?

The content only seems to be getting worse. They're posting some really fucked up things.
One post claims that the pwBPD didn't actually care because after the break up they blocked and ghosted the person without BPD..they were expecting stalking but the pwBPD didn't do that..and the person w/o BPD actually was doing some stalking. Basically, they aren't in contact so they have no idea how the pwBPD is actually feeling...but the pwBPD isn't making posts up to their standards of what it means to mourn a relationship.
Another one states that it "makes sense" that in a story...a fictional sorry...a pwBPD killed their significant other.
This is awful. This is terrible. I don't understand how the subreddit is supposedly about abuse yet somehow they rarely talk about abuse and instead shit on every person with BPD and generalize the disorder as a whole.
It should instead be called "ableistcodependentscirclejerk"

2021.12.01 00:03 Stormshad3 800+ Hours and Almost One Year of Consistent Training. Here are what I learned and why I quit

I tried a lot of things throughout this journey; some information may be useful, some might not. I hope I can give some of you ideas of what this journey looked like!

I started in July 2020 with Aimer7's beginner combination routine. I wanted to start new and build a solid foundation. The routine was easy and I had fun. I played them once a day sometimes in the morning but mostly in the afternoon. After a week I started to do the next level one I did the next one for two weeks before discovering now Voltaic benchmark. I didn't care about the benchmark first, and I continued to do Aimer7's routine despite how everyone said Voltaic routine would be better. I got Gold and never really cared too much because I was following Aimer7's guide; I wanted to be more consistent with which guide I follow just so I can make more progress ig.
#1 Lesson - Which guide you stick to doesn't really matter imo; try everything and stick with the one you think you like more. If you think that one is better and is gonna be more helpful, or you fear that you are missing out, it's most likely not going to be the case. I improved with both, but ended up doing Voltaic because of the community and resources.
After one month of Kovaak's, I switched to Voltaic's routine, starting with Gold routine, then plat, then Apex specific routine, Valorant specific routine, smoothness training, smoothness training, etc. This was the longest journey. I did this for several months. I first did only one routine a day, then I wanted to improve faster and did 2 or 3 a day. There were a month or two that I would wake up at 7:30AM, do 30min of smoothness training or speed training depending on the day, and go back to sleep afterwards.
#2 Lesson - I read that the first 30min when you wake up help you a lot in terms of memory or muscle elasticity. I think scientifically it was true, but I really don't know how much it made me better tbh. I eventually stopped doing it because I don't like waking up early xD
#3 Lesson - When I was spending the most time on training, my day looked like this: 30min smoothness/speed, 1 hour 45min apex after breakfast, and 1 hour 45 min valorant before I sleep. I think I did this for a month straight because I wanted to improve so bad. I didn't play games; I only aim trained which didn't improve my game play too much, but my aim on Kovaak's was certainly getting better. Aim is not everything in a game; it is an important fundamental to have, but it is not enough to win games.
#4 Lesson: don't over train like I did. Looking back, I don't think its all that worth it. I did see improvement, but it gave me a lot of stress. I saw it as a burden, and when I don't perform well in game, I get really frustrated which is not good. Burn out is real.
Eventually I got too tired of doing the long routine, and I got rid of one 1 hour 45min one. So now I do 30min smoothness + nap + full apex routine on mon and wed, and 30min speed + nap + valorant on tues thurs.
My aim and KDA was okay. I wanted to go 30-0 with all headshots on valorant and get 20 kills 4k dmg each apex game, but it didn't happen. I was still average, but saw some improvement. The biggest improvement I noticed was still only on Kovaaks.
At this point I started to doubt everything. I was kinda frustrated. I started to search a lot online questions such as "I am improving in Kovaaks but still suck in game" and "how to translate aim from kovaaks to game", etc. Most of the posts say just keep trying which weren't helpful.
#5 Lesson - If you ever hit this point where you begin to feel frustrated, I would recommend adjusting your mindset. This is huge later down the road.
I was trying everything: meditation, stretch, power naps, schedule my routines, working out, playing 1 scenario from the playlist and then repeat the playlist, etc.
#6 Lesson - a lot of this didn't really matter imo, but maybe I didn't do it long enough or did it wrong. The only thing I continued to do was stretching, power naps and playing each scenario once then repeat the playlist
#7 Lesson - PROTECT YOUR EYES AND HANDS AND YOUR BODY!!!! My vision significantly decreased during this journey and I think aim training takes some responsibility. You only have one pair of eyes and hands; prioritize them over the temporary joy you feel when you play games, please!
At some point I went back again to do the benchmark. I never mentioned benchmarks above because I didn't do them as much; I didn't want scores to affect me. But one day I was curious and was able to hit plat pretty easily from Gold. From that day forward, I decided to do benchmarks only on weekends.
After hitting plat, I started to do Zeeq's routine. I did smoothness + tracking on one day, speed + static the next, and movement + clicking following that then repeat. Weekends I do benchmarks. I did this for months as well.
Being desperate to improve, I tried sens randomizer, especially during smoothness routines.
#8 Lesson - I still don't know how much sens randomizer helped me, but I think it is a good tool if you adjust the settings correctly. In FPS, you should get used to a range of sensitivities instead of one number specifically. Sens Randomization does exactly that. But default settings have a large range, so reduce that range might help. Try for yourself.
#9 Lesson - Don't stick to one sensitivity. The number is not important, the range and motion are
Eventually I was able to reach diamond. After reaching diamond, I gained enough knowledge about aim, and decided to create my own routine. The routine was just 2 hours of everything combined (static, clicking, tracking, movement). I continued to do smoothness, but dropped speed and movement.
#10 Lesson - Smoothness is still very important imo. I would definitely recommend some smoothness routines if you have the time. It helped me the most.
Eventually I hit a road block. Pushing for masters was hard, I couldn't aim in game still sometimes, and it was difficult mentally. I decided to start vod reviews and asked around for coaching.
I recorded hours of gameplay of Kovaaks and val or apex each day and see my shots. I slow them down and see wtf is going on. I would slow down aceu or lyr1c's vod and compare them to mine.
#11 Lesson - After a lot of vod reviews, I learned that pros miss shots too, but they have other ways to win. Therefore, FPS is not only about aim. Learn the game.
#12 Lesson - I scheduled a coaching session with the one and only christmasiscancelled. It was a valuable session, but he made me notice that aim is more mental and physical. The better your mental is set, the better you will improve.
#13 Lesson - Inner game of tennis is cool, but might be hard to apply if you form a habit. It is a good resource, even if you only watch a youtube video on it.
Eventually I hit master scores, but the scoreboard reset. So within a year, I went from Silver to Master. BUT! I only got my first ever 4K on apex this July AND I used a sensitivity that I didn't initially start with and used for most of my time.
I quit training because of school.
I hope that you learned something; ofc there are some things missing here and there. If you have questions, I can try my best and answer them. Thank you!

2021.12.01 00:03 ZeUberSandvitch Best advice on how to stay calm and collected when your bird REALLY tests your patience?

Hey everyone, I've been reading up a lot about training and bonding with parrots and one thing that's always been at the back of my mind is how do owners keep it together when their bird is being... problematic? By that, I mean stuff like biting, territorial behavior, "bratty" attitudes, and mischief. I've owned birds in the past and never lashed out, but I plan on getting another bird at some point in the future and would love to hear some tips or tricks on how to keep yourself under control when your bird decides to be a jerk.
