2021.12.09 05:03 JudgeJuryAndJudy I need someone to explain Nate to me

Why does he hate Ted so much? Ted was dealing with a lot this season and I'm confused that Nate suddenly started hating him over the course of season 2. I'll probably rewatch before 3 but I'm very confused right now it seemed out of left field almost.

2021.12.09 05:03 EmperorChief How to deal with Depression.

People always ask me "How did you bounce back from your depression?"
You don't get out of depression.
Depression is terrifying. It looks like sadness, feels like exhaustion, sounds like a defeat but in truth, it's a monster much bigger than the sum of its parts.
I have encountered it on a smaller scale half a dozen times growing up. However, this last time it didn’t hold anything back. Yes, circumstances were difficult: unemployment, relationship troubles, and mental health problems among other things. But for those of you who have ever faced depression you know that it can seem like it towers over every area of your life, regardless of circumstances.
I was consumed with the idea that I had to get off my depressed state. That if I could just escape somehow then I would finally be "normal again. It doesn't work that way.
What I learned was that you don't get out of depression, you get the depression out of you.
I'll describe it like this. We have a cup. This cup is filled with different parts of our life. We get depressed when the cup is filled with more bad than good.
I want to offer you some ways of how I filled the cup back up with good stuff. The more good you put in, the more bad stuff gets pushed out. This isn't a cure, just one human communicating to another.

  1. Read Positive Influences: quotes, non-fiction and fiction books, uplifting stories. Show your mind over and over again that good things are happening in the world.
  2. Listen To Uplifting Music: Anything that's upbeat and puts a smile on your face will do. Make sure the lyrics are putting good material into your mind.
  3. Find Good Atmospheres: I had to force myself out of the house during my month of depression, and it only got more difficult towards the end. But this is also one of the most effective ways to speed up your recovery. Find places you enjoy being with people you enjoy being around and spend time there. Even when you feel like your going to break down, go to the bathroom – cry it out – then come back and stay another hour.
  4. Talk About Anything: A lot of the time I had no idea what was wrong or what I was actually sad about. I just felt heavy and dark. Find someone who will listen to you without having to offer advice or cast judgement. Talk about anything; just get your mind active in speaking. It will help loosen its grip on the heaviness.
  5. Exercise And Feed Well Your Body: Even doing everyday tasks had grown exhausting. How was I supposed to exercise? The truth is this really does help. Start small. Walk around the block twice a week. Spend 5 minutes in the morning stretching.
  6. Sleep Whenever Possible: Trying to sleep a full 8 hours during my depression was impossible. I’d wake up after 3 or 4 and then feel guilty about not being able to rest. Don’t beat yourself up. Sleep whenever you can. If that’s a few hours a night mixed with a nap or two during the day, that’s fine. Sleep is a scarce friend when depression hits, so welcome its presence when available.
These are all things within your control. Coming to grips with the fact that circumstances are always changing and that we cannot control the world is a huge step towards feeling better and bouncing back.
Focus on the things you can control. Food, exercise, conversation, your free time. Chip away at your depression, activity by activity, and take your life back inch by inch.
The depression slowly grew over time, before I felt like I was completely consumed by it. In the same way, it will take time to shrink back down again. Be patient and believe that there is a better tomorrow down the road.
I promise you, you will be happy again. And you will be stronger.

2021.12.09 05:03 fredderman Mantis by K.W. Jeter 1987

Great novel. First Jeter. Can't wait to read some of his other work.
A man watches a killer kill, but things aren’t what they seem--you can probably guess the now well-known trope, but this is 1987. And when a woman comes along for the thrill of murder it gets darker and at the end weirder.
Great unreliable narrator. Never really seen it in it a novel before.
This one really grew on me. I had to re-read the first ten or twenty pages because it was confusing, but by the end of the novel I was in love with it. I’ve never read a novel with an unreliable first person narrator. The first time it happened I had to go back and double-check.
Also, the cover looks like most 80s covers, Slugs, Hobgoblins--but the Mantis here is more of an analogy.

2021.12.09 05:03 randomfemaleonhere Adult Palate expander before or after genioplasty

I'm currently using invisible aligners and the dentist said I would need to use an expander that you put on top of the Invisalign and leave it in for at least 8 hours a day. First of all, will this type of expander work on someone in their 30s, and would it be okay to have a genioplasty before expanding my palate or should I wait? Thank you in advance.

2021.12.09 05:03 kwerkie Sprout-like icon for new jobs you try.

How would playing dungeons and trials would be different if we have a system that allows us to put like a sprout icon for new jobs you like to try?
For example, I started playing in September 2021 and my main is SAM but i would like to try tanking and healing but having some doubts cause just like other people, im having anxiety doing it but then if we have an option that allows us to put an icon beside our names that indicates we are new to this job then that lessens the anxiety at least because people know ur new to that job without explaining it.
the span of time the icon could last can be determined how many hours you put in dungeons/trials.
What do you think guys?
