2021.12.01 14:48 ElContadorMexicano Best "chit chat" bars?
Hey guys! My gf and I are having a couple of our friends coming over this weekend, and we want to enjoy a nice sit down bar on Saturday night. Given my gf and I are still new to the city, I’m looking for any recommendations! TIA!

2021.12.01 14:48 KillerTulip Shopping Small Business
Hello all, I am fairly new to the area but I am looking to shop some local small businesses for the holidays this year. There are plenty of big box stores but I am having a hard time finding the small creators and locals by just doing some online searches. I feel like I missed some of the recent events as well. Are there any craft fairs or small business shows in the next couple of weeks? Tag your favorite local shops, etsy stores, etc. I would love to shop around and help the community.
Ideally I would be looking for stationary, candles, and other smaller shippable items. But I would love this thread to be useful to additional users so share all your favorites! A few places I can call out now: Letter Perfect in Palo Alto and B Street Books in San Mateo.

2021.12.01 14:48 OatMiruku Best place for napping on campus
Just a senior year student lives off-campus spending most of the day time on campus. I think being a senior year student… basically means I’m aging, got so tired from different final projects. Kinda wanna take a 15-20 min power nap on campus… Besides McKeldin Mall, any other suggestions?

2021.12.01 14:48 lulzwtfwhy A24 Vintage Collection
Curious what everyone's thoughts on these are. There was one at 12pm EST today, with vintage tees from Sundance and the Oscars, as well as a dope Jerry Maguire pullover. By the time I had logged on, though, the only remaining item was a hardcover of The Making of Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song. Due to FOMO and because the book looked beautiful, I bought it for $60, but now I'm wondering whether it was worth it.

2021.12.01 14:48 MulfordnSons Resources For Learning
Recently I accepted a new position and I have a month or so until I start.
During the last interview, I made it clear what my strengths and weaknesses were. For example, I have loads of python, SQL, project management and analysis experience.
However, my knowledge and experience with Portal, ESRI Enterprise, etc. are for sure my weaknesses when it comes to GIS.
One of the tests was to decipher one of their scripts that deals with a MapServer service they use for a web application. Although I had no trouble picking the script apart and what it does pythonically, I felt I didn’t grasp the Portal/Enterprise/MapServer part of it as well as I should have.
They are a full ESRI shop, and I was wondering if any of you could point me in a direction to start from “the bottom up” so when I take this new position in a month, I come into ready to contribute to the organization.
Thanks in advance

2021.12.01 14:48 thearsenalman97 UPDATE : Got my first Interview
So my previous post on here was about how I could tailor my resume to get interviews (wasn't getting any). After incorporating all the feedback given in the comments, I finally got one (not that big of deal maybe, but is a huge break for me).
It's my first interview for a big data engineering role (I'm current in an SWE role). The first round is a technical round for about an hour. Can someone let me know what kind of questions I can expect or topics I need to brush up on.
This is the job description that I was sent :
Hands on job experience in Hadoop technologies (Pig/Spark).
Understanding of traditional ETL tools, RDBMS, SQL
Experience on Big Data and NoSQL technologies
Proficiency in Unix/Linux as well as scripting languages (Shell/Perl/Python).
Building non-relational data models on NoSQL data stores
Hands-on MapReduce coding, including Java, Python, Pig programming
Hands on experience on Cloud Technologies (AWS/GCP)
Good to have accreditations.
Good understanding on Agile way of working.
Thanks in advance !
