2021.12.01 11:42 AresI_X 2077 is a bad RPG…but a great linear game
First off, we can all probably agree that 2077 did not live up to its hype.
That being said, the game has some amazing story missions. And the atmosphere is spot-on the entire time.
Recently, I played Titanfall 2’s campaign (again). What a work of art! But the campaign has zero room for choices and character customization. It has zero freedom aside from a few lines of dialogue, but it’s still a great game.
I also played the ENTIRE Metal Gear Solid series over the summer. Man, that was something. Those games are incredible! But with the exception of V, all have these linear, set, levels, and no freedom for player input aside from the basic actions of Snake/Snake/Snake/Snake (haha).
So let’s talk about Cyberpunk 2077. It fails as an open-world game because it just kinda…sucks…with its open world stuff. But it’s main missions and side character quests are great!
In summary, I believe that 2077 DOES have an amazing story, atmosphere, etc. It is not a good open-world game, but it tells a great tale when looked at as an on-the-rails game.
A parting note: I bought the game last year. I played it for a few hours then asked for a refund. Over the past few weeks, I played it on my roomate’s PS5. I forgot how immersive SOME parts of the game were. As 2077 is on sale near me, I want to go and grab a copy again.
I think a lot of people are rightfully angry that it doesn’t meet expectations. But when taken with zero expectations, it does a great job.

2021.12.01 11:42 ronakmist I'm happy with people quitting in the trial after the first race
I did 3 attempts on the trial for this week yesterday. As always, the first AI car just broke away and I just couldn't catch up.
For the first 2 attempts, we went through only 2 races each and lost both. Me and another guy were 2nd and 3rd and everyone else dead last.
In the third attempt, same thing in the first race. However, everyone but 2 of us quit. Made it easier for us to beat the AI and win the other 2 races. Still couldn't catch up to that first car though.

2021.12.01 11:42 drynionph Brand New Shiryo - Inu - DAPP based game & NFT’s in development! - Liquidity Lock - Launching Now on BSC
Welcome to Shiryo - Inu
Shiryo - Inu launching now on Ethereum and it seems that play to earn game tokens are still one of the best niches to buy in DeFi! The roadmap details a fully functional trading card based game which will allow for the earning of the native token through different incentives including weekly competitions!
Contract Address: 0x0e675f042b4C4053062e94ff4738e233D846A31b
The team recently released concepts for the trading cards on their Telegram group and their design team has done an amazing job, this is a gem in the making and it is still incredibly early if you get in now. Having only been life for less than 24 hours the token is sitting at just above a $1M market cap which is incredibly low for a play to earn game, the team is really active on Telegram and the holders seem to be diamond handed after seeing the potential in this project!
Everything about this project has been super clean so far, the chart looks good and the website and concepts released so far have been on point.
The whitepaper is to be released today alongside more mockups of the concept for the game, the marketing has been on point with calls from all the biggest names on Telegram and Twitter. The developer even just hired a social media specific marketing agency to help get even more eyes on the project, Shiryo-Inu is about to become synonymous with the likes of Floki and Mononoke - Inu, don’t sleep on this one!

2021.12.01 11:42 Routine_Charity7943 Hypothyroidism and Perimenopause
Firstly, I just want to say Thank You to everyone who has posted and commented in this group. reading your stories is helping me through a really hard time.
I want to share my story in hopes it may help others and to be honest, as a comfort to myself.
In 2018, at the age of 45, I was told by my doctor my TSH level was at 4.82. About 6 months later in 2019 it was around the same however my blood work showed high Thyroperoxidase Antibody at 398.
At the time my doctor said I have hypothyroidism and we will monitor it and I should try taking Vitamin D. She actually also told me to be careful as one autoimmune disorder often leads to others which I found scary and disheartening.
After going for blood work again this month my TSH is now at 7. I am still doing nothing (no meds, but I do see a psychologist to deal with work stress and anxiety) and my symptoms are getting worse.
I have had insomnia for almost a year, brain fog, on and off bouts of prolonged sadness, and as of late, anxiety, excessive cold sweating, etc. This has all been cumulative since 2018.
I live a calm life, a good job (although can cause stress), my food choices are decent, I do yoga, have a loving family, but I still feel "off" on more days now than ever.
I've called my doctor and asked about HRT. I thought I could do it alone and naturally through diet and exercise, etc but I just can't seem to anymore.
I wish the doctor talked more about menopause and Perimenopause to me rather than just saying I have an autoimmune disorder. I feel I am experiencing both Perimenopause and Hypothyroidism in tandem and it's been a tough few years :(
Thanks for letting me share this with you all. If anyone can relate and has any tips to get through it, please let me know:)

2021.12.01 11:42 maxwoob How difficult is renting in Utrecht in comparison to Amsterdam?
Hey guys, I recently accepted a new work contract near Utrecht. I currently have long term room in Amsterdam, but to cut down on the commute ( over an hour), I'm considering renting a Studio over there. How difficult is renting over there in comparison to Amsterdam? I've only heard horror stories from my friends haha. Should I even bother looking? My budget would be around 1k for something.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Sorry if I was supposed to post this in the housing thread but it said summer.

2021.12.01 11:42 sleepy_aurora am I healing or not
about a week ago I posted here about feeling better (I have acute gastritis from ibuprofein and alcohol). I had been on PPI’s for 6 days and the next day I lowered my dose. it’s now been 2 weeks of gastritis and about 11 days of PPI’s, and I feel fine. My upper abdomen never hurts but sometimes when I don’t eat for a little while, it feels like IBS pain or like I have a lot of gas in my tummy lol and it goes away when I eat. I’ve been eating a bland diet for 2 weeks now, taking supplements and PPI’s supposed to end in 3 days.
I know this takes some time, but how do I know I’m healing? it’s sometimes a little discouraging reading peoples stories who have stuggled with this for years or even months, so I was wondering if there’s anyone who has been able to heal? How do you know you’re ready to try foods?
Thanks for all your help!

2021.12.01 11:42 psweeney1990 Looking to run an encounter based around the Siege of Neverwinter, looking for tips or advice
So in my campaign, a homebrew rehash of Lost Mines, the players are currently preparing for an oncoming siege, laid by an army of Goblins. I have some ideas I am working on for how to run it, and would love to see what you guys can come up with to improve the concept.
I've been reading a resource I found here on Reddit, from a user u/filmatra , called Armies of War. I like the concept behind it, as it runs just like a standard encounter. I especially like the idea of a player getting to step into the role of a Commander. However, I wanted to add a little flair to how I ran it, because of the events prior to this fight,
The general concept is that, during the battle, my players will be handling smaller objective, quick back-to-back encounters against small parties of Goblins, which are relatively easy for a party of level 6 players. However, I plan on using the idea in AoW about allowing a player to step into the role of a Commander, giving them control over a small "squad" of varying soldiers. In AoW, the combined CR of the squads controlled by the player cannot exceed that player's Charisma score. I like this because it allows me to build my own squads, based on the armies they are controlling, and any preparations they make in advance.
So, as an idea, I have one player who has a talent with alchemy and potion crafting. My thought was that he might work with local alchemists to produce a high quantity of alchemist's fire, allowing me to create an "Alchemist Squad" that he can control as a result.
With AoW's rules, a commander gets one Legendary action each turn, and offers a selection of actions thereafter. I like most of these, however I feel like the army conflict should be mostly autonomous, with the players simply using these actions to bolster certain moments.
As an example, I plan on having the goblins attempting to use siege towers to scale the outer walls of Neverwinter. The players will then face a small encounter on the walls itself, fighting off the goblins who manage to get on the wall. During that encounter, they will have a second tower moving towards the wall. One of the prepatory actions that my players took was to help install a number of ballista on the outer wall of the city, and as such, one of their Legendary Actions is to unleash a Ballista Barrage on a target of their choice, with a 1d4 rounds cooldown. The BB is highly effective against the siege towers, and will likely (based on the rolls) destroy the tower in a single hit. Setting up these preparations for moments like that, then being able to unleash hell at the end of the battle itself, is what I am looking for.
The general idea is a Zoom In, Zoom Out type experience. Each round, the players have their encounters first, and will complete their encounter's round before going to the army perspective.
I have a battle board I am crafting, which will act as the battle mat for all encounters. First, prior to the battle, any player who wishes to act as commander, chooses to do so. To be a commander, the character must have a minimum Charisma of 13. They then use the Charisma modifier to determine the number of and types of squads they will control during combat. Additionally, one NPC character acts as an additional commander, controlling a larger section of the army, and having more (3) legendary actions that a PC commander would.
The entire army has an initiative bonus, which is based on the highest initiative of infantry the army has under its control. Each round, the two armies re-roll their initiative rolls to determine which side goes first. The side that goes first can prepare tactics against their opponents that will quickly overwhelm them, but the second party gets to reorganize and try to take back control afterwards.
When the players enter an encounter, they take their encounters turns first, then at the end of each round, they zoom out and watch the armies fight, giving orders as needed.
What I like about it is this whole army based tactic is really a shiny distraction. Their BBEG for this arc, a Hobgoblin named Azaroth the Red King, will be actively watching and commanding from the rear line. The players could, if they were tactical and cautious, make their way across the battle field and fight the Red King directly. However, doing so might cause the army to suffer large casualties, as they will not be able to assist the specific sections and attacks. But if they remain and command the army, Azaroth will get away.
What do you guys think, is this a little too convoluted, or would this be something you would be interested in playing? As I said, I would love any advice you can offer.
